A FANTASTIC FALL SEASON
By Dan Britts, CCM, Assistant General Manager
What a fantastic fall season it’s been! The Club has been buzzing with annual autumn events, beautiful weddings, and so much more
Our Third Annual 1886 Regatta was a standout this year, drawing a record number of members to cheer on 16 of America’s top rowers in thrilling head-to-head races Among the competitors were five Olympians fresh from the 2024 Paris games In true Tuxedo style, our Regatta remains uniquely ours, featuring a 1,886-meter course that honors the year the Club was founded
The weather was perfect for our signature Halloween Brunch on October 20th, full of festive treats and sweets and the addition of pumpkin carving which was a big hit! Children and parents alike tapped into their creative side, both with costumes and carving, and it was great to see everyone enjoying what has become a Club favorite event
Always one of the best parties of the year, this year ’ s Hadden Tomes Costume Party was no exception TUX Marked the Spot at the “Jolly Roger Jamboree” where members and players donned extravagant Pirate Costumes and partied until late into the evening.

COURSE UPDATE
By Casey Klossner, Director of Agronomy
I hope this golf course update finds you well after an amazing stretch of fall weather As the golf course stands currently, all playing surfaces have been core aerified and cleaned up Dry conditions have made for successful cleaning and playability. We are also in the process of trimming pond and creek banks and mowing down the native areas on site Our staff size has been reduced and measures are being taken to winterize the golf course after an intense 2024 season
This season has been interesting and challenging to say the least Spring was cool, which slowed early-season green up and aeration healing was delayed due to low soil temps During the summer months, our property experienced 24 days over 90 degrees, which is unprecedented during my tenure or in recent record keeping for our area
As I write this article, I am excited to announce that the first significant rain event since September 28th is expected. In total, our property has now had 52 straight days without substantial rainfall At one point, we broke a 100-year record for consecutive days without rainfall
With the end of the season in our midst, I must take this opportunity to thank the individuals on the grounds maintenance staff Employees in our department persevered through many difficult obstacles this season and the golf course is heading into the winter in healthy condition because of their dedication and hard work.
With colder weather approaching, stay tuned for additional information regarding the putting green closures in December Until then, the putting greens will remain open as weather allows
GOLF UPDATE
By Chris Muldoon, Director of Golf
As the winter weather approaches, we wrap up another active season of golf Rounds are down less than 3% year-to-date through October compared to last season, but it still marks the second-highest round total within the past 15 years. With the turn of the New Year just over a month away, the planning stages for next season have already begun The finalized golf calendar will be forwarded along over the next several weeks to help you plan ahead.
Last season, we had the privilege of hosting the Robert Trent Jones Society Annual Meeting for the first time This year, a devoted team from Tuxedo ventured West to Colorado Springs where the U.S. Air Force Academy Eisenhower Golf Club, a classic Jones layout, hosted this year ’ s rendition A team of eight Tuxedo golfers - Jake & Michele Lindsay; Keith & Allison Kucinski; A Jay & Kellie Baldwin; and James & Jane DePiero - represented The Tuxedo Club.
Hollis Stacy, four-time LPGA Major Champion, was the keynote speaker at the awards dinner where Tuxedo fared well as the Tuxedo women ’ s foursome won Low Net Team Allison Kucinski won Individual Low Gross, beating her husband Keith by one shot! The mission of the Society is to honor Robert Trent Jones Sr and his work, to preserve the historical information and documents pertinent to the golf courses he designed, and to encourage and support the education of member Clubs on the design principles of his courses.
