Hiking in the mountains is one of the most impressive ways of getting close to nature in Tyrol. To make your time in the mountains even more enjoyable, the WanderHotels*Tirol have ten tips for you to take along.

The right route: 01 Take your physical fitness into account when choosing routes and the speed during your hike. Starting off gently will help you to avoid overdoing it.

They should be waterproof and low-weight, and the soles should provide good grip and traction.

Perfect planning: Before you start, you should be aware of a route’s length, differences in altitude, the current trail and weather conditions, the equipment required, opportunities for a break, and special requirements.

Complete equipment: You should put together everything you are going to need for the hike the evening before, when you are full of anticipation.

The unspoiled environment: To make sure that nature can be enjoyed also by the next generation of mountain enthusiasts, you should always take your rubbish home with you or throw it in one of the bins provided and show consideration for plants and animals.
