60th Anniversary of the Zanzibar Revolution

The Zanzibar Commission for Tourism (ZCT) was actively involved in commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Zanzibar Revolution at Amani Stadium.

Zanzibar International Trade Fair 2024 (ZITF)

This year marked the 10th edition of the ZITF, held under the theme "E-business for business development and investment," from January 7-19, 2024, at Nyamanzi Ground. The event coincided with the 60th anniversary of the Zanzibar Revolution, with ZCT collaborating with the Tanzania Tourist Board to promote domestic tourism.

Record-Breaking Cruise Ship Arrivals

The Norwegian Cruise Line's NCL DAWN docked in Zanzibar on January 15, bringing 2,214 tourists and 1,010 crew members. Following this, MSC POESIA arrived on February 2 with 2,149 guests and 989 crew members from Geneva, France, and Barcelona.

ZCT's Efforts to Reduce License Bureaucracy

Mr. Adil George, Director of Management and Coordination of Tourism Activities at ZCT, received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Business Licensing Regulatory Commission (BLRC) on January 15 for significant contributions to reducing licensing bureaucracy.

European Visitors Lead, Italy Tops Country-wise.

Zanzibar recorded 51,873 international visitors in March 2024 which is an increase of 13.0 percent compared with 45,915 visitors recorded in March 2023 and decreased by 27.0 percent compared with 71,095 visitors recorded in the preceding month (February 2024). Tourists from Europe continued to dominate the market by accounting (77.7 percent) of the total visitors in March 2024. In country wise, Italy dominated the Tourism market by accounting 15.7 percent of all visitors entered in March 2024, followed by German (10.7 percent) while New Zealand recorded less than one percent which is the least.
