Long Term Care Funding Options and The Family Home Many clients who need to pay for care cannot afford to do so because they are “ASSET RICH AND CASH POOR” This is an overview of how capital tied up in the home can be utilised. Financing a Proposed Move into Residential Care Problem: Care Homes require evidence that you can afford to pay for at least two years’ care Solution: A Bridging Loan will allow a homeowner to receive an advance of up to 65% of the property value which is repaid from the sale proceeds of the home within 12 months. Once your residence has been approved, this capital can be used to arrange the ongoing funding arrangements. Buying an Immediate Care Plan Further (ICP) provides a tax-free annuity that is paid direct to the care provider. These payments increase annually, and they are guaranteed for life. Selling the Client’s Home We provide a stress-free managed service to sell the property. The client and their family or carers do not have to be involved. Process If one of your clients is struggling to prove they can pay for care, arrange a free consultation with us. We can do this remotely to avoid Covid risk to the vulnerable, but face to face meetings can be made possible. Contact The National Careline on 0800 0699 784.

SUPPLIER DIRECTORY The National Careline

0800 0699 784 / simon.whitehead@thenationalcareline.org / thenationalcareline.org We are an information provider for people interested in care for older people. Our main information site can be seen at https://www.thenationalcareline.org. This is a free resource for anyone, and covers a very wide range of topics. We know that people start to panic early in the care journey, and a good site covering all the topics likely to be of interest. We host a care directory on the site at https://www. thenationalcareline.org/CareDirectory. An entry is free to local authorities and charities. Commercial organisations pay £300 per annum per entry up to a maximum of £1,200 for national coverage of all your sites. Visitors to the site can call free helpline on 0800 0699 784. For care homes, we provide a service enabling clients with a property to access funds to enter the home, and then we assist them to sell it afterwards.
