o First, let’s look at some of the ways that people differ and explore the benefits of diversity for our society. While we should all celebrate diversity, at the same time we need to acknowledge past issues that grew from misunderstandings of such differences and work together to bring change where needed. Differences among people may involve where a person was born and raised, the person’s family and cultural group, factual differences in personal identity, and chosen differences in significant beliefs. Some diversity is primarily cultural (involving shared beliefs and behaviors), other diversity may be biological (race, age, gender), and some diversity is defined in personal terms (sexual orientation, religion). Diversity generally involves things that may significantly affect some people’s perceptions of others—not just any way people happen to be different. For example, having different tastes in music, movies, or books is not what we usually refer to as diversity. When discussing diversity, it is often difficult to avoid seeming to generalize about different types of people—and such generalizations can seem similar to dangerous stereotypes. The following descriptions are meant only to suggest that individuals are different from other individuals in many possible ways and that we can all learn things from people whose ideas, beliefs, attitudes, values, backgrounds, experiences, and behaviors are different from our own. This is a primary reason college admissions department frequently seek diversity in the student body. Following are various aspects of diversity:
Diversity of race. Race refers to what we generally think of as biological differences and is often defined by what some think of as skin color. Such perceptions are often at least as much social as they are biological. Diversity of ethnicity. Ethnicity is a cultural distinction that is different from race. An ethnic group is a group of people who share a common identity and a perceived cultural heritage that often involves shared ways of speaking and behaving, religion, traditions, and other traits. The term “ethnic” also refers to such a group that is a minority within the larger society. Race and ethnicity are sometimes interrelated but not automatically so. Diversity of cultural background. Culture, like ethnicity, refers to shared characteristics, language, beliefs, behaviors, and identity. We are all influenced by our culture to some extent. While ethnic groups are typically smaller groups within a larger society, the larger society itself is often called the “dominant culture.” The term is often used rather loosely to refer to any group with identifiable shared characteristics. Diversity of educational background. Colleges do not use a cookie-cutter approach to admit only students with identical academic skills. Diversity of educational background helps ensure a free flow of ideas and challenges those who might become set in their ways. Diversity of geography. People from different places within the United States or the world often have a range of differences in ideas, attitudes, and
behaviors. Diversity of socioeconomic background. People’s identities are influenced by how they grow up, and part of that background often involves socioeconomic factors. Socioeconomic diversity can contribute a wide variety of ideas and attitudes. Diversity of gender roles. Women have virtually all professional and social roles, including those once dominated by men, and men have taken on many roles, such as raising a child, that were formerly occupied mostly by women. These changing roles have brought diverse new ideas and attitudes to college campuses. Diversity of age. While younger students attending college immediately after high school are generally within the same age range, older students returning to school bring a diversity of age. Because they often have broader life experiences, many older students bring different ideas and attitudes to the campus. Diversity of religion. For many people, religion is not just a Sunday morning practice but a larger spiritual force that infuses their lives. Religion helps shape different ways of thinking and behaving. Diversity of physical ability. Some students have athletic talents. Some students have physical disabilities. Physical differences among students brings yet another kind of diversity to colleges—a diversity that both widens opportunities for a college education and also helps all students better understand how people relate to the world in physical as well as intellectual ways.

HOW TO FIGHT SARCOPENIA MUSCLE LOSS DUE TO AGING Sarcopenia, also known as muscle loss, is a common condition that affects 10% of adults who are over 50 years old. While it can decrease life expectancy and quality of life, there are actions you can take to prevent and even reverse the condition. Although some of the causes of sarcopenia are a natural consequence of aging, others are preventable. In fact, a healthy diet and regular exercise can reverse sarcopenia, increasing lifespan and quality of life. Sarcopenia literally means “lack of flesh.” It’s a condition of age-associated muscle degeneration that becomes more common in people over the age of 50. After middle age, adults lose 3% of their muscle strength every year, on average. This limits their ability to perform many routine activities. Unfortunately, sarcopenia also shortens life expectancy in those it affects, compared to individuals with normal muscle strength. Sarcopenia is caused by an imbalance between signals for muscle cell growth and signals for teardown. Cell growth processes are called “anabolism,” and cell teardown processes are called “catabolism” For example, growth hormones act with protein-destroying enzymes to keep muscle steady through a cycle of growth, stress or injury, destruction and then healing. This cycle is always occurring, and when things are in balance, muscle keeps its strength over time. However, during aging, the body becomes resistant to the normal growth signals, tipping the balance toward catabolism and muscle loss. Although aging is the most common cause of sarcopenia, other factors can also trigger an imbalance between muscle anabolism and catabolism. Sedentary Lifestyle, disuse of muscle is one of the strongest triggers of sarcopenia, leading to faster muscle loss and increasing weakness. Bed rest or immobilization after an injury or illness
leads to rapid loss of muscle. Periods of decreased activity can become a vicious cycle. Muscle strength decreases, resulting in greater fatigue and making it more difficult to return to normal activity. A diet providing insufficient calories and protein results in weight loss and diminished muscle mass. To help prevent sarcopenia, scientists recommend consuming 25–30 grams of protein at each meal. Early signs of sarcopenia include feeling physically weaker over time, and having more difficulty than usual lifting familiar objects. Decreased strength might show itself in other ways too, including walking more slowly, becoming exhausted more easily and having less interest in being active. Losing weight without trying can also be a sign of sarcopenia Sarcopenia, the loss of muscle mass and strength, becomes more common with age and can decrease lifespan and quality of life. Eating enough calories and high-quality protein can slow down the rate of muscle loss. Omega-3 and creatine supplements may also help fight sarcopenia. Nevertheless, exercising is the most effective way to prevent and reverse sarcopenia. Resistance exercises appear to be particularly effective, including using resistance bands, lifting weights or doing calisthenics like squats, push-ups and sit-ups. However, even simple exercises like walking can slow your rate of muscle loss. At the end of the day, the most important thing is to get active. However, there are other signs that can also occur in other medical conditions. To know all there is about Sarcopenia we advise you to talk to a health professional. Your health professional can give you information on Nutrition, Vitamins and other mean of reversing Sarcopenia, that is if you have it!

THE WORD
By Tucker Ficklin It took me a long time, and I was embarrassed. My legs were shaking and my hands were slipping off of the rocks on a low-level wall in an indoor rock-climbing gym. I was 11 years old, and my confidence plummeted faster than I was climbing up the plastic nubs. My youth group friends were below me yelling, “You can do it!” and “You got this!” But I knew I couldn’t. I always thought I was born without an ounce of physical coordination, and this was proof. Everyone was shouting that they believed in me, but I didn't believe them. What else were they going to say? I kicked off of the wall with rage and feeling defeated sent myself gliding down toward the ground. I threw off my harness and pouted like a child until our youth leader pulled me aside and gave me the words that would eventually help me overcome much more than climbing a rock wall. He said, “You can do it because God rewards perseverance.” In that moment, I knew what I had to do. I strapped my harness back on and took on that rock wall with the faith that God was going to help me get to the top. It might have taken me 20 minutes longer than the rest of my friends, but I did it. Encouragement is a vital ingredient to building community and spurring each other on. Hebrews 3:13 tells us, “But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’ deceitfulness.” Life is hard. Our biggest obstacle might have been a rock wall or a science test when we were younger, but obstacles become bigger and affect more people as we
get older. Decisions carry more weight, and the uphill battles are steeper and more dangerous. Insecurity is real, and the enemy wants to see us worn down and hardened, just like Hebrews 3 describes. Walking through life alone is scary and daunting. But we were never meant to go through life alone. Later on in Hebrews, the writer continues to stress how much we need each other saying, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:24-25). We are commanded in Scripture to love each other, remind each other who we are and who we serve, and to choose to see the best in each other. That day at the rock-climbing gym, my youth leader chose to look past my physical and mental weakness. He saw me how God sees me — a person capable of doing so much more than I ever thought possible because He lives in me. Many times, we cannot find the strength we possess with Jesus on our side until someone points it out to us. It is our job to make sure other Christians know their worth and everything they are capable of. That extra push from a friend is often how God shows us He can do huge things with a willing heart. Many times, we cannot find the strength we possess with Jesus on our side until someone points it out to us. True community happens when we all work to-
gether for the good of others. Romans 12:4-5 describes the way we all fit together in the church like this: “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” We belong to one another. When someone belongs to you, you help them know that they are a well-loved and important part of God’s kingdom. Encouraging each other is how we bridge the gap between being an onlooker in someone’s life and actually caring for them the way God commands us to? Encouragement is the blood that makes the body function. Encouraging someone takes a genuine love and the grace to see more in them than they can even see themselves. It’s so much more than a pat on the back or an “atta boy.” If you’ve ever been encouraged by someone, you know how a life-giving word from a genuine friend can give you the strength to push through life’s toughest battles. Encouraging people is a practice and discipline. Sometimes it’s hard to see good in others and put their needs before our own, but it’s what Jesus would do. You’ll be surprised at how giving someone else an encouraging word can help us climb our own rock walls, too.
“The Story Behind the Song “Amazing Grace” Chances are, you started humming along as you read those Amazing Grace lyrics. Considering that some estimates claim that the beloved spiritual is performed roughly 10 million times annually, it's no wonder. "Amazing Grace" is easily one of the most recognizable hymns in the English-speaking world. Although the words and tune (NEW BRITAIN, for those of us who aren't hymn tune connoisseurs) are recognizable to most, many are unaware of the song's history. We tend to sing its words and reflect on them in terms of our own lives — grateful for God's grace — and understandably so. But knowing where the song came from allows us to appreciate it in a new and more profound way. Written almost two and a half centuries ago in 1772, the words for the beloved song were borne from the heart, mind and experiences of the Englishman John Newton. Knowing the story of John Newton's life as a slave trader and the journey he went through before writing the hymn will help to understand the depth of his words and his gratefulness for God's truly amazing grace. Having lived through a rather unfortunate and troubled childhood (his mother passed away when he was just six years old), Newton spent years fighting against authority, going so far as trying to desert the Royal Navy in his twenties. Later, abandoned by his crew in West Africa, he was forced to be a servant to a slave trader but was eventually rescued. On the return voyage to England, a violent storm hit and almost sank the ship, prompting Newton to begin his spiritual conversion as he cried out to God to save them from the storm. Upon his return, however, Newton became a slave ship master, a profession in which he served for several years. Bringing slaves from Africa to England over multiple
trips, he admitted to sometimes treating the slaves abhorrently. In 1754, after becoming violently ill on a sea voyage, Newton abandoned his life as a slave trader, the slave trade, and seafaring, altogether, wholeheartedly devoting his life to God's service. He was ordained as an Anglican priest in 1764 and became quite popular as a preacher and hymn writer, penning some 280 hymns, among them the great "Amazing Grace," which first appeared in the Olney Hymns, printed by Newton and poet/fellow writer William Cowper. It was later set to the popular tune NEW BRITAIN in 1835 by William Walker. In later years, Newton fought alongside William Wilberforce, leader of the parliamentary campaign to abolish the African slave trade. He described the horrors of the slave trade in a tract he wrote supporting the campaign and lived to see the British passage of the Slave Trade Act 1807. And now, we see how lyrics like: The first verse -Amazing grace! How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found, was blind but now I see. The second verse And Through many dangers, toils, and snares I have already come. 'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home. carry a much deeper meaning than a sinner's mere gratitude. Close to death at various times and blind to reality at others, Newton would most assuredly not have written "Amazing Grace" if not for his tumultuous past. And many of us would then be without these lovely words that so aptly describe our own relationship with Christ and our reliance on God's grace in our lives:

What is Google? Google is the biggest and most popular search engine on the internet. It is involved in many businesses such as hardware, software and advertisement services. Also, google is quite prevalent in cloud computing and AI. The company stands with tech-giants like Facebook, apple, and amazon. What does it do? Google is by far the most famous for its search engine services. That has been the backbone of the company's success. The website receives 5.4 billion searches each day. The stats are just a signal of big monopoly and a hint for google spy, capitalism. What is Surveillance Capitalism? It means this company track every bit of your data and sells it to be exploited by corporations. Isn't that illegal? No, not according to laws that are molded to benefits this big corporation. They know everything from your favorite essential oil to your best shopping site. You can download all your data. If you want you can download all your data this includes google drive, bookmarks, photos and a dozen more. This data is stored in a Google server. It's great from the point of convenience but frightening for your privacy. Google stores everything in its infinite space of servers. Not just it keeps the data. But they never delete it. I mean they keep your files forever. Which data Google keeps forever. When you browse you google activity and look for data which google has saved. When I did the same, I was frighted because google had my 2013 eBay and Amazon purchases. Just chilling around in their servers. My flight tickets, restaurant booking, and even dentist appointment. Sounds scary! Because a lot of data about flights and purchases are not made through google. I literally typed the URL and made purchases This further adds to point that google spy on you. I further investigate this topic. I read multiple forums and mail a couple of people from google. The answer to my question was very mixed and looks not so accurate. Some on the forum suggest that Chrome as a browser is tracking your accounts. Which goes directly against its policy. And others from google gave a different explanation. They suggest that Google was able to retrieve that data because you
have received those confirmation mails of your purchases on your Gmail. How does It harm Me? You may ask How does It harm Me if google knows what I search and from Where? Google is exploiting you with the data they have. Even if you opt-out they still track your data. They are not looking to provide you services but capitalize on your data for their profit shares. If you search for diseases on google. And visit near a medical store It will start showing you ads related to diseases you have searched for. Google is eating data and becoming powerful. They have a certain influence even on government. There could be a good chance that the government is also involved in this activity. So, if the government is involved in this dirty business for short-term gains this can turn-out ugly for many of us. Because we would be helpless and can't do anything about our privacy. This is the problem. They even have a policy in which they could share data with the government. So now the government just not only know your Social Security Number but also your Facebook likes and dislikes. Your political and religious beliefs. And this is harmful. Google News Article If you read google news like many other millions you need to reconsider your choice. Google News is a propaganda machine that feeds you what you like. The Google Spy in Your House Every command you give to your virtual assistant is being heard by many others. A big sect of audience believes that google listens to your talk 24x7. Google does not save data directly like other services but directly transit it to their servers. That means you'll never know if they have your data or not. Because they are saving and syncing the data live. Think of it like Netflix you are streaming a video you don't have the file in your local machine. So, google is live streaming your voice assistant data which is connected to WIFI and once they received the data they save it and share it with government and big corporations. Wearing Face Masks
And How to Explain It to Kids
THE HOMEWORK STRUGGLE: HOW TO ENCOURAGE KIDS TO DO HOMEWORK Most parents have been there— the nightly homework struggle. Students rarely look forward to completing their homework assignments after the last school bell has rung for the day. However, homework is part of being a student—and one that has an impact on future academic performance. This makes it important to figure out how to encourage kids to do their homework without a nightly quarrel. Homework supplements the education that children are getting in the classroom. Its role is to increase comprehension and give students the chance to study, practice, and understand the material. This type of “outside-the-classroom” thinking can help increase the development of positive study habits, improve cognition and memory, and encourage time management. Students often have trouble seeing the value in homework. After all, they just spent an entire day in school, so why should they sacrifice their valuable free time to do more work? Other factors, from attention and motivation issues to poor time management and organizational skills can also lead to students having trouble completing their homework. Students who don’t do their homework or continually battle with their parents about it often experience higher levels of stress. This stress can lead to a lack of motivation both inside and outside of the classroom, causing them to fall behind. It’s important for parents to take an active role in making sure students complete their homework so their performance doesn’t suffer. How can you make homework time a smoother process? Rather than making your child do homework, focus on how you can make homework more a more enjoyable experience for your 7
child. Don’t worry—it’s easier than it sounds! There are tips on how to encourage good homework habits in your child. Creating a schedule your child can follow makes it easier to get him or her to sit down and complete homework assignments. Set a time and create a special study space for homework to be completed, making it part of the child’s nightly routine. Give kids a break after school. Don’t force your child to do homework as soon as he or she gets home. Let him or her have some time after school to give his or her mind a break before starting homework. This break can help improve motivation and focus when it is time for your child to do his or her homework. Show encouragement and appreciation of your child’s hard work when he or she has completed his or her homework. Something as small as a high five or words of praise can boost your child’s motivation. You can also offer small rewards, like a trip to the store or a special treat. While you child does his or her homework, don’t engage in other preferred activities, such as watching TV. Read a book, do some research, or scratch a chore off your to-do list. Rather than yelling, have a calm discussion with your child about why homework is important. Fighting with your child will increase stress and frustration, leaving him or her unable and unwilling to focus on homework. By encouraging—rather than forcing—your child to complete his or her homework, you can help your child become a more organized, proactive student. This will save you a lot of arguments down the line, letting your child use his or her energy to reach his or her potential rather than avoiding homework.
The masks can be unsettling for children, and they may have questions about them. Below are some common questions and answers that can help parents respond to children and calm their worries. Why does everyone wear masks in public? The mask is a way to help stop the spread of the coronavirus. Everyone is being asked to take steps to prevent spreading the virus from person to person. Physically distancing is one way to accomplish this, which means maintaining six feet of distance from others. We are all becoming aware of how stores are marking the floor/ ground to help remind us and ensure appropriate physical distance. However, when you are in public places it may not be possible to keep that far apart from others. You may pass closely or interact with others in grocery stores, at gas stations, or in the park. In those cases, it makes sense to have a mask on, as well as do your best to physically distance. Masks, or facial coverings, are mainly to prevent the person wearing the mask from generating droplets from breathing, coughing, sneezing, etc. It is these droplets that can carry a virus from one person to another. Children who are infected with the coronavirus often have mild illness, or are
YESWECANNEWSPAPER.COM
completely asymptomatic, meaning they never have symptoms. However, they are still able to spread the virus. This is why children should also wear masks and do their best to practice physical distancing. It’s important to note that children under two years-of-age should not be masked as they are too young to understand and could be at risk of suffocation from a facial covering. Generally, there is no need for a mask at home or in your car when you are with only people from your household. If, however, there is a sick or vulnerable person at home, then family members should wear a mask when they are within six feet of that person. This is still very new for us, and any change can be challenging. There will be developmental challenges for kids wearing masks, such as tantrums, that parents may have a hard time managing. It could be fun to decorate the mask with your child using markers, stickers, and other things that will engage your child and increase their ownership of the mask. Remember, practicing patience and repeatedly working with your child now will be essential. Until we have a vaccine, handwashing is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of virus, along with social distancing and wearing a mask
