LEADERS AND PARTICIPANTS CONVOCATORY

The initiative proposed by Youth Colombian Leaders Foundation, ASOUSA STORYTELLERS aimed to create virtual meeting space, through Facebook where alumni of the different programs sponsored by the United States Embassy in Colombia, will share experiences, knowledge, and opinions through virtual participation with the intention of reconnecting and positioning ASOUSA as the interaction channel for all Alumni in Colombia. This proposal had 4 approaches to energize the network and promote the participation of the alumni in the ASOUSA network. Youth Colombian Leaders Foundation opened a convocatory where alumni from the different programs were invited to participate in this initiative, using social networks. An initial meeting was held to share the guidelines and scope of the proposal as well as the execution times.

A core team of leaders was consolidated to shape Storytellers, this team identified potential alumni to participate in the facebook live sessions and structured the interviews in the 4 proposed categories: VOICES OF EXCHANGES, PANDEMIC IMPACT, MENTOR TALKS, and leaders for the I AM ASOUSA Videos. The events were created on the ASOUSA FB page and shared through Whatsapp and email to the alumni network in Colombia. Certifications were given to all the participants as moderators (presenters) of the FB live sessions and the guest who shared their stories.

The ASOUSA Storytellers team was formed with alumni from the Youth Ambassadors, Martin Luther King, Access and IVLP programs, where its main objective was to extend invitations to participate in the sessions. These invitations were shared with the 9 Binational Centers asking them to identify speakers for the 3 categories and also some participants for the videos. 200 ASOUSA kits with promotional material (kits with: tulas, t-shirts, caps, thermoses, agendas, and pins) were delivered around Colombia, for the alumni who would participate in the interviews and the videos "I am ASOUSA".
