Haemorrhoidectomy Surgery Post-Operative Care Tips Please follow the below advice after the surgery: •

Blood stains during first week after procedure, and / or yellowish discharges are expected. You may experience some pain after the procedure, this is common. Below are some ways to relieve pain: •

Take analgesics/painkillers as prescribed by your physician especially on the first 3 days after procedure

Use of flotation pad when sitting to relieve pressure on operated site

Side-lying may promote comfort especially during initial period after surgery

Bowel movement: •

Do not sit on the toilet bowl for more than 5 minutes, or strain to defecate

Your physician will prescribe stool softeners to facilitate bowel movement

Ensure adequate fluids intake to prevent constipation

Hygiene •

Use the shower spray during baths and after defecation to keep your wound clean
