BATIK BAYU STORE @ SICC

Batik Bayu is a local batik brand by Kristal Handal Sdn. Bhd., a wholly-owned company of Yayasan Sabah Group. Its batiks are designed with motifs of different ethnic groups in Sabah. What differentiates it from other brands is that we are the only batik producer in Sabah that had been certified with the Batik Malaysia MS 692:2007 from Malaysia Handicraft Development Corporation (Perbadanan Kemajuan Kraftangan Malaysia) since 2015. We assure our customers that all our batik is produced of great quality to meet the required standard.

On 1 February 2023, Batik Bayu officially opened its pop-up store at Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) by the name Batik Bayu Store @ SICC. This pop-up store will continue to run for the next three months. It is located at Level 2 of SICC near the surau and lift. Besides batik, other products such as handicrafts and accessories from local artisan are also brought in, and one of them is Borneo Gemstones. The store’s opening hours are from 9:00 am to 5:00pm (Tuesday until Saturday), 1:00 pm to 5:00pm (Sunday) and closed on Monday. Prior to its opening, the outlet welcomed the visit of the Director of Yayasan Sabah, Dato’ Sri Haji Gulamhaidar @ Yusof bin Khan Bahadar on 31 January 2023.

The store has received positive responses from the public since its opening. The pop-up store had gained more recognition and brand awareness. It hope that the availability of Batik Bayu products at SICC will provide more options for our customers as this location is in the city centre.

Batik Bayu products are also available at Galleria Artisan, Menara Tun Mustapha and Galleria Artisan, Menara Kinabalu.
