Panels are produced 25 different types. 5 different widths “30 cm - 45 cm - 60 cm - 90 cm - 120 cm” and 5 different heights 60 cm - 150 cm - 270 cm - 300 cm - 330 cm. Products sent to the construction site ready to use. We are using in the produce resistance to highvalue special shaped profile designed by Welser Profile. 21 mm birch plywood is used on the surface of the panel. The system is designed by ÖZLER according to your projects. In our designs, we consider fresh concrete pressure of 80 kN/m². We use automatic arc welding in the manufacturing process. The system has special antirust paint and if required galvanized.

The system is consisted of 3 main components; plywood, wooden beam and steel waler. The mould is balanced by strut. Concrete pressure is met by Tie-Rod, Tie-Rod nut and steel walers. Working bracket provides safety and easy concrete casting. The system is designed by ÖZLER according to your projects. In our designs, we consider fresh concrete pressure of 50 kN/m² for the walls and 80 kN/m² for the columns. We use automatic arc welding in the manufacturing process. The system has special antirust paint and if required galvanized.

The scaffolding system used under the slab and beam. It may be used in 3 different ways, table type slab scaffolding, loading tower and ladder tower. Base spindles are used to balance the scaffolding, head spindles ( 4 Ways or U Head ) are used to balance the slab and beam. System can be moving by table carrier and crane component without disassembly. The system is designed by ÖZLER according to your projects. Width of the main frame 150 cm, height 110 – 150 or 180 cm. Main frames are produced 60*3 - 3,6 - 4 mm pipes. Diagonal braces are produced 34*2,5 mm pipes. We use automatic arc welding in the manufacturing process. The system has special antirust paint and if required galvanized.

DUBAI’HAS STARTED


T

he Big 5 has its origins in an event known as Arab Water and came about from an amalgamation of five separate product-focused events that all had a link to the construction sector such as HVAC and building materials. With the building of the Dubai World Trade Centre, which began to develop in the late 1970s, the event found a permanent home and has expanded in size along with the venue. When DMG Events Middle East, Asia & Africa acquired the exhibition in 2000, the event covered some 12,000m² this has risen to a current figure of 113,526m² in gross floor space and 48,184m² in net exhibiting area.

State support for the event has come from both international and local institutions. In 2007, the event was one of the first in the region to welcome a prime minister when the then Italian leader Romano Prodi visited the exhibition with his minister for international trade. In 2012, British prime minister David Cameron also visited the event in support of his nation’s export businesses.


The visits reflected both the value of bilateral trade with the UAE but also the rise in importance of the Gulf region as a whole to European export manufacturers with EU exports to the GCC valued at $125bn in 2015.

Dubai’s construction industry knows no standstill. According to BNC’s Dubai Construction Market 2016 report commissioned by construction exhibition The Big 5, over 3,700 projects are currently ongoing across the emirate. Their total value is estimated around $400bn. The Dubai construction market is on an upward trajectory, the report


shows. Although approximately 21% of them are on hold, a large number of projects are in advanced stages of construction, with an estimated value of over $100bn. Noteworthy high-value projects under construction include the Sobha Hartland Development ($2.1bn), the Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences – Palm Jumeirah ($1.4bn) and the Innovation Hub PT-163 – Dubai Internet City ($1.2bn). Commercial and residential units, education, healthcare and hospitality buildings, leisure and recreation facilities, religious buildings, retail facilities and mixeduse urban developments make up approximately 77% of all project values in Dubai, amounting to almost $320bn.

Back then, it was acting more like an importer, and struggling to acquire position in the market as a manufacturer. An industrial company could not stand as an importer for long, that’s how the production began. In 2000 Sel Sealants started to look for new markets in the world. With new product ranges, continuous investment in machines and much bigger production facilities over the years, Sel Sealants became a company that exports to 82 countries by 2016. Sel Sealants, who is among the biggest manufacturers of its sector in Turkey, produces on an area of 34 thousand m2, exporting to 82 countries; with the ISO 9001 certificate and the necessary laboratory test on its entire product portfolio. Can you give information about the foundation of Sel Sealants and 16

Can you tell us about the product groups you provide the customers? What is your company’s product range made of? In 1991, we started with the products related with construction, and continued with automotive line. Recently, we launched our Anaerobic and Adhesives line. I can say that we are more conscious, more careful and more ambitious. These should be considered only as the beginning. In a period where Turkey makes such a serious advancement, we on our behalf must do our best and continue to represent our country in foreign markets in the most successful way possible. Our most recent investment/launch is the Technical Sprays for the Automotive Industry, we started

the production of products like Brake Cleaner, All in One Spray; providing an extended line to our Automotive customers. We will continue our investments in new products and new technologies. Can you inform us about the solutions you offer for the automotive sector, your most


recent launch? Will there be any other new launched products on the market this year by Sel Sealants? In 2016, we launched our Technical Spray line, with 27 new Sprays: from the Brake Cleaner Spray to Liquid Grease or Mold Cleaner Spray. Adding the Technical Spray line to our existing automotive products like PU Sealant and RTV Auto Gasket, this line will help us to penetrate the automotive market even better. We continuously invest In new technologies and new products, therefore we will continue to launch new products both for Sealant market and the automotive industry. Let me briefly inform you about two new Acrylic based products we recently launched: Firestop Acrylic Sealant, which creates a barrier against fire and Light Filler Acrylic Sealant, with a great performance in cracks. Do you have more news other than the new launches? Sel Sealants believes in reluctantly investing in itself and always provides the best quality and service. In an era of technology, online sales gained great importance; making the life for customers easier and more accessible. That’s why, our b2b e-commerce website (shop.selsil. com) went live in the second quarter; where our customers can login and see the latest campaigns and products, have free delivery to their address and track all their purchase history with us online. We carried Sel Sealants service and quality to online and aiming to lead the market in e-sales as well. Can you tell us about the work you do with your customers? The most important link we have between our customers and us is trust and it is the most vital element and purpose of our job. It is direct and clear. If the quality we

sell has deficiencies or we do not have the raw material or the price we ask for is incorrect, the market is disturbed, can you imagine anything worse? Of course it should be kept in mind that trust is not a one-sided notion, therefore I claim that the customers of Sel Sealants in Turkey are the most trustworthy, most prestigious companies enabling perfect operation for both parties. On which criteria you base your R&D studies? Can you tell us about these studies? A very successful, innovative and visionary team conducts our R&D studies. I can say that there are days that even they come up with innovations, which would help us to lead the market. For example, we produce 3 products for which we own the patent. Apart from that, news regarding the new technologies reaches us fast, since we work with many countries throughout the world and able to watch the different market needs. We immediately try to follow it and try to understand how compatible it is with our (Turkey’s) own raw materials. This is the story behind all the production investments we do. What are the most important things for the end-users? Can you tell us about the factors driving their purchase decision? In which areas Selsil brand stands out? When I say, “trust”; do not be mistaken about the smallness of the word. I believe that we managed to explain ourselves to the people we work with. The consumer recognizes Sel products and the quality behind it. We never altered our quality in the past 25 years or we did not come up with lower quality options; on the contrary we produced even higher levels of quality products and kept adding them to our portfolio. The products we sell are the details

of a construction or automotive project. But those details complete the finishing; it is all about the details. With a small difference in price, you can provide your building or car longer lifetime expectancy. We believe it is significantly important. What are your 2016-yearend targets? What would your closing remarks be? Our sole target is to have a strong and healthy improvement in growth each year. Turkey is a very important production land and a bridge between continents. eneral Information of the project: The 3rd Airport, the biggest project of the country, has been built in the European side of Istanbul, on an area of 76,5 km2 between Tayakadın and Akpınar villages by the Black Sea and it will have six independent runways with its terminal, the capacity of which can be increased up to 200 million passengers. The project

has been going on by the joint venture of Cengiz, Mapa, Limak, Kolin, Kalyon and its tender price, 22.152 billion Euros, is the highest within the history of the Republic. The project has started in June, 2014 and the project’s first stage is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2018. When all of the stages of the project is completed it is expected that it will be the airport with the

highest passenger capacity in the world by moving ahead of Atlanta International Airport serving to 100 million passengers. 60.000 m2 of Terminal building, the largest part of the project, has been solved by PERI FORMWORK SYSTEMS under the management of the expert team of ÇAİ.

ALSALAR; DIRECT SERVICES TO CONSUMERS VIA TRUCK HOUSE Alsalar Building Materials and İndustrial Company started as an export firm in 2005 and activated production in 2009. We did an interview with company official Yılmaz Sezerel and talked about Truck House project and the wide range of products. İn an attempt to establish close contact with consumers through Truck House Project, explains Sezerel, we developed the product and we are expecting an increase in the number of products and regions.

uppling goods in about 5-6 thousand items for the production and exporting them from Turkey,İtaly and China by selling it to Haydari Group in Iraq, the company take firm steps forward in accordance with demands of the market. SELF-PRIMING CENTRIFUGAL PUMPS

S

aying self-priming pump means sucking and pumping water without fixing check-valve onto end of suction line, when pump water suction level remains under

pump level. Sufficient water reservoir must be in the suction side of the pump in order to let this process achieve. Prior to operating pump, the pump and reservoir (pre-filter) in

front must be filled with liquid. Regarding check-valve does not exist into suction pipe; inside of the pipe will remain empty. When pump is operated the impeller propels the liquid in front side to pumping line. A latitude difference will happen between suction side of the impeller and pumping side. While some negative pressure happens on the side of suction, the air in line enters into the impeller. The impeller mixes air and water. Regarding specific gravity of air-water mixture being lower than liquid, the mixture remains upper side of pumping line. Separated air escapes towards

air pumping line. This procedure continues until air completely ends on the side of suction. This is a process that takes a time. When air finishes then normal working will have started. Conformity of a self-priming pump is checked according to the additional C3 matter of NFS/ANSI 50-2009 standard. The pump - which having no pre-filter, in other words having no proper water reservoir, suction pipe in the level of pump suction inlet and if liquid which is filled into pump flows without accumulating in front side – cannot be a self-suction pump. The all NOZBART pumps with pre-filter are self-suction pumps. On the contrary, the information was mentioned at an advertising meeting held under a seminar, the pump which has diffuser, snail, close or open impeller do not make any effect for being a self-

suction pump. If there are covers hinged on the sleeves of impeller is named as covered impeller, if there is no covers this impeller is named as open impeller. Diffuser is a pump element. It has no relation in terms of covered or open pump. As long as not being obliged, any apparatus that makes negative pressure in terms of pump suction must not be made. Cavitation happens when net positive suction head (NPSH) drops under the value of pump producer. Cavitation will happen when absolute pressure drops under liquid vaporization pressure. Reasons; 1 – Suction height 2 – Liquid temperature 3 – Design of impeller 4 – Revolution number of motor 5 – Pump working altitude

When cavitation happens; a- Flow reduces, pressure reduces b- Pump works in efficiently c- Strikes happen on sleeves of impeller. The pressures which result in these strikes might exceed 1000 kg/cm2. Cavities happen on membrane, wing can break. A big corrosion happens in a short time. d- Noise happens e- Vibrations shortens work-life of pump Speed change causes to pressure change in flows, as for pressure change causes to speed change. If fluid-section flows through gradually into growing channel, speed will steadily reduce, pressure will rise. Here making this process diffusers convert speed into pressure energy. The pumps with snail, this procedure is made by snail. Snail is the most suitable single sleeved diffuser.
