Composting Childrens Book

Page 1

Alex and Ava love to run around in their grandparent’s garden.

One day, they see their grandma dumping food scraps near the garden.

Their grandma explains, “You can compost food scraps like apple core, and carrot peel and use it to grow more things!“

Tiny bacteria and fungi work to break these down turning these scraps into soil, but they need air and water to survive and do their job.

Alex and Ava then turned their grandma’s compost to give it air to survive, and soon after, the compost was ready to be used!

Their garden was vibrant with different vegetables thanks to the compost.

Later, they used the ingredients from the garden to make some tasty carrot cake.

That’s how Alex and Ava learned how easy it is to compost while helping the earth and their garden.
