Next to the common cold, back pain is the most frequent complaint heard by doctors.
Massage kneads away tension in the muscles, as well as relieving discomfort in surrounding areas that are “guarding” in response to the pain. It increases circulation, allowing healing nutrients and oxygen into the tissue.

What string tension should I use in my tennis racket?
Sincerely,
Sally Strungout
Dear Sally,
Making the decision of string tension is a real important factor for your tennis game. No two players may ever agree on this decision because this is a very personal opinion depending on the individual. Your skill level is a big factor in making your decision and also what kind of style of game you play. The looser the tension in the racket, the more power you can hit, but less control. The tighter the tension, the less power, but more control you have. Professional tennis players have been going way down in tension over the years. In the earlier years of Professional tennis, the average tension used to be in the 60’s-70’s lbs. Bjorn Borg strung his wood rackets at a record high 80 lbs. Now the average tension for Professional’s are in the 40’s-50’s lbs. There is one top 20 player who is 36 years old named Adrian Mannarino from France. He strings his racket at a record low 22 lbs. He claims it has allowed him to compete and maintain his high singles and doubles ranking with the younger players and gives him the added power he has lost with his age. I personally played Peter Doohan from Australia the week before he beat Boris Becker at Wimbledon 1st round the year after Boris won Wimbledon. Peter strung his rackets at 35 lbs. I was amazed how hard he hit the ball with minimal effort. The player who swings very fast will probably use a higher tension for control. The player with a slower swing speed will usually play with a lower string tension. I personally string my rackets at 30 lbs because I am hitting thousands of balls everyday and want to preserve my arm after teaching and playing tennis for over 50 years. I do recommend trying different tensions depending on your ability and your health.
Sincerely,
Dr Dani

Well fall has finally arrived. We have enjoyed some very nice days and cooler nights. This is one of my most favorite times of the year. It’s the time of year we start to slow down on mowing frequency and start looking ahead to our winter projects.
During the winter months our mowing really slows down. We will still be mowing greens on a consistent basis but rough, fairway and tee mowing’s become few and far between. So we start on our winter time activities. You will see us out on leaf duty before too long. Sweepers will be out sucking up leaves and debris along with blowers to keep the playing areas clean and ready for play. We will also be limbing up the tree canopies to help promote grass growth around the trees and also help with golf shots if you happen to find yourself a little off track. We will start this year on #3 and move forward. Another project you will see us doing is adding some drainage in areas that stay a little more wet than intended. We will also be checking the bunker sand depths to make sure we are uniform throughout the bunker and will add sand where needed.
This is a break in the year for us. We will still be here everyday and continuing to enhance the golf course for our playing members. We just won’t have the extra stress of getting all the grass cut and blown every day. I hope to see everyone on the course or at the club. Happy Fall Y’all!
The Wynlakes Golf Shop will hold its Annual Open House on Friday, December 6 • 5-8pm
It is a great night of food, fun, drinks, and fellowship. There will be a bunch of new merchandise in the shop just in time for the Open House and the Holiday season. Come get the first look at everything and take advantage of our free gift wrapping!
