It will be an extra special brunch offering photo sessions for all grandparents with their grandchildren. Be sure to make reservations on our website, www.wynlakes.com.

GOLF COURSE TREES:

If you’re a golfer or a homeowner on the course, you may have noticed some recent tree removals. During the scheduled golf course closure for aerification in July, a total of 37 trees were taken down. We received several inquiries about the work. The majority of these trees were impacting the health and growth of our tees and greens. Some areas will be resodded, while others are expected to recover naturally. More details on this in Brad’s article.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH MAY - RAYMOND ROBINSON

We’re excited to spotlight Raymond Robinson as May Employee of the Month! Raymond has been part of the Wynlakes team for a year and brings a great attitude and work ethic to everything he does. He says he loves the overall vibe of the club and especially enjoys working on the tennis courts. When he’s not at work, you’ll likely find him fishing—his favorite way to relax. His biggest motivation? His two boys, who inspire him to give his best every day. Raymond also appreciates how Wynlakes truly values its employees. Fun fact: Raymond works every single day most weeks —now that’s dedication! You can find him in the Fitness Center or helping out on the tennis courts. Thank you, Raymond, for your hard work and commitment.

Want to get back into a healthy routine? Stack your fitness habit onto something you’re already doing.

BACK PAIN BODYWORK & MASSAGE

Next to the common cold, back pain is the most frequent complaint heard by doctors.

Massage kneads away tension in the muscles, as well as relieving discomfort in surrounding areas that are “guarding” in response to the pain. It increases circulation, allowing healing nutrients and oxygen into the tissue.

Dr Dani, Can you give me a tip to improve my serve?

The ball toss sets up everything. A consistent, well placed toss allows you time to swing, generate power, and hit your target more accurately.

SUPERVIEWS by Brad Barron

Aerification week has come and gone, and we are in the Dog Days of summer. Everything went very good during our shutdown week for aerification. We had multiple projects going that we accomplished that week. We aerified, did our dry ject, cut down 37 trees, edged bunkers and all pond banks. We also were able to spray fairways and greens with much needed amendments. I’m sure most of you that have been on the course have noticed the trees we took down. Every tree we took down will have a very positive effect on the quality of turf and play in those areas. We all know that shade is an issue for growing good turf, but the

roots are just as much of a problem. The feeder roots, which are out past the drip line of the tree, were taking away needed nutrients and water from a lot of tee and green complexes. It takes a lot of water and nutrients to support trees that size and it out competes the turf for it. Removing these trees will make huge difference in these areas. We will continue our push through the end of summer. Before long, we will start preparing for fall and winter. Hopefully some cooler weather is not too far away but as I said earlier we are in the Dog Days of summer right now. Stay hydrated and I hope to see you on the course.
