May 2021 Update
Dear Friends and Family, Things around the world are finally emerging from their COVID-19 lockdowns and our Wycliffe staff are beginning to both head back overseas as well as new staff being able to get to their first overseas assignment. One such couple is Josh and Katie Goshert. After getting 3 negative COVID tests for their family of seven to fly to the Solomon Islands, they arrived at the airport in California ready to get on the plane. There, they discovered that one piece of paperwork related to COVID was not filled in. That resulted in their return to Dallas, Texas where there is housing accomodations for Wycliffe staff, in order to regroup. Finally, all paperwork was completed and in late April they took a long 51 hour flight going through an unusual route via Qatar and then on to Brisbane, Australia. A day later on April 23, the Gosherts arrived in the Solomon Islands. Once in the Solomons they quarantined for 21 days and after more negative COVID tests, they were allowed to get to their final destination, the Bible translation headquarters located in Honaria, Solomon Islands.

They are the couple Chuck helped join Wycliffe back in the summer of 2018. After spending around 18 months raising sufficient support to serve as operation mangers in the Solomon Islands, they were getting ready to head there last year when COVID hit. They patiently waited for things to open up and did more training. Finally, a few months ago the country opened up and the Gosherts were on their way. At least they thought they were. 1|Page

Please pray for their family as they take on crosscultural training and finally start their work.
