MICHEALS’ MEMOIRS February 2015 Dear Friends and Family, As most of you know, last year we hosted a GET Global trip for Wycliffe with seven young people to the country of Papua New Guinea. One of the things we accomplished on the trip was the recording of Tairora Scripture and Tairora Christian Hymns. Most of the Bible has now been translated (after over 50 years of work by Wycliffe Bible translators Alex and Lois Vincent) and now it was time to put this all into an audio format.
In our last newsletter we told you about the dedication of the Tairora Audi Bible held at Ukarumpa, Papua New Guinea (PNG) last fall where the Tairora Audi Bible were distributed. Now people from the Tairora can both hear and read the Scriptures in their own heart language!!! Thank you for sending us there last year and praying with us to accomplish that!!! Thanks to all of you who continue to support our work with Wycliffe with your monthly gifts! We couldn’t continue to serve without your prayers and gifts. We are now starting our 30th year of service with Wycliffe thanks to that support!!!

One of our Wycliffe missionaries serving in PNG who helped us on the ground at Ukarumpa was Lindsay. We said our goodbyes to her at
Ukarumpa in July of last year and didn’t think we’d see her again. What a joy it was for us to meet with Lindsay at our Wycliffe office in Orlando, FL, USA this past month. She came for a workshop and thought to call us to arrange a visit! She showed us the Tairora AudiBible and we were able to hear to hear the Tairora Scripture and music files we recorded. We actually got to hold it and listen ourselves!!! What a great joy to know that Scripture will be available to the Tairora people anywhere and especially for those who are not able to read.
PRAISES
Many people have responded to our note in our last newsletter about a church that has supported us for many years inform us that they will be discontinuing their support of our work due to a change of their church’s mission focus. Much of that yearly drop of about $ 3,000 has been made up with new people giving! While the full amount hasn’t been covered, a significant amount has! We thank all of you who have given one time gifts and pledged new support to help cover this need!
PRAYER
Pray for continued success in our recruitment work. So far Chuck has been able to help over a dozen people join Wycliffe. Pray for Barb as she continues her busy season in organizing and planning the short term trips to Papua New Guinea this summer. A dozen students have signed up for the two trips. Pray that many who go on the trips would commit to serve with Wycliffe. Pray for Chuck as he continues to host a twice monthly “Unreached People Groups” prayer time at the nearby Reformation Bible College. So far this year he has led prayer times for the people groups in the rim of
Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, Iran and Ukraine. Pray too that God will send some of these students to be that answer to prayer! Please continue to pray for funding for a replacement van for us.
