Había una vez dos gatos enamorados: Richy y Mady. Vivían en un bosque canadiense. Ambos tenían una frondosa cola, orgullo de la familia.
Once upon a time, there were two cats in love, Richy and Maddy. They lived in a Canadian forest.
Both had a bushy tail, pride of the family.
At the end of each day, watching the sunset, they wished that a sweet and cute kitten would come into their lives, to complete their love.
Diariamente, al contemplar la puesta de sol, deseaban que llegara a sus vidas una linda gatita, para completar su amor.
La última noche de diciembre, el destello de una estrella iluminó el paisaje.
On the last night of December, the flash of a star lit up the land.
Por la mañana, sobre la nieve, encontraron un canasto con una pequeña.
Era la anhelada hija, ¡Catita!
In the morning, on the snow, they found a basket with a cute kitten. It was the long-awaited daughter, Catita!
Los felices padres, notaron que Catita, carecía de la bella y frondosa cola familiar.
The happy parents, noticed that Catita, lacked the beautiful and bushy family tail.
Richy y Mady, viajaron a las cataratas mágicas para hablar con el hada Ilusión. Les dio polvo mágico, que esparcirían cuando la estrella volviera a iluminar su casa.
Catita obtendría así, una bella y frondosa cola. Richy and Maddy, traveled to the magical falls to speak with the fairy named Illusion. She gave them magic dust, that they must spread when the star returned to light up their house.
Catita would then get a beautiful, bushy tail.
Pasaron muchas noches en vela, hasta que la estrella de nuevo brilló.
Mientras Catita dormía, siguieron las instrucciones del hada.
Many sleepless nights passed before, the star shone again. While Catita slept, they followed the fairy’s instructions.
La frondosa cola de Catita, no apareció.
¡Pero sus padres la amaban incondicionalmente!
Catita’s bushy tail did not appear. But her parents loved her unconditionally!
El tiempo pasó. Día a día Catita había soñado, despertar entre las flores que brotaban en primavera, luciendo una hermosa cola.
Time passed, and day by day, Catita dreamed of waking up among the flowers that sprouted in spring, wearing a beautiful tail.
Una noche estrellada, Catita entonó una canción con toda el alma, descubriendo que tenía un maravilloso maullido de soprano. Desde ese instante, el sueño de la frondosa cola, no tuvo importancia.
One starry night, Catita sang a song with all her soul, and discovered that she had a wonderful soprano meow. From that moment on, the dream of the bushy tail, no longer mattered.
Satisfecha, Catita fue feliz por la vida, sin cola, pero acompañada de sus bellas canciones de amor.
Satisfied, Catita lived a happy life without a tail, accompanied by her beautiful love songs.
Cuando cumplió un año, todo el pueblo se reunió para oírla cantar.
¡La felicidad de Catita y sus padres, nunca fue tan grande!
Y colorín colorado, este cuento se ha acabado.
