The Park Place Hotel & Conference Center offers sixteen unique event spaces, which feature executive meeting rooms, a fabulous ballroom in our conference center and a breathtaking view of downtown Traverse City and Grand Traverse Bay from the Top of the Park. The Park Place provides thoughtful service in beautiful surroundings that bring historic character to your special event.
Our Catering and Convention Services staff will work with you to plan delectable meals, assure the function space is set to achieve the dynamics and objectives you desire and provide for your audio-visual needs.
After your event, your group can venture just steps from our front door to the beaches, shops, restaurants, galleries and nightlife that Traverse City is famous for. We're right in the heart of four seasons of outdoor recreations, close to wineries, orchards and diversions of all kinds. Please ensure that the schedule includes all space necessary to accommodate setup and teardown times, all audio visual needs, head tables and displays. Should you require food and beverage services and/or meeting space beyond that detailed in the schedule of events, please advise us as soon as possible so that we might try to secure such additional space or services for your use. In this instance, additional charges may be applicable.
The Park Place reserves the right to adjust function space at the reservations deadline based on attendance levels, with prior discussion and agreement with you, the client.
In order to secure the space you desire, we require an event deposit, signed contract and a valid credit card on file. The amount of the deposit will be applied to your final bill.
The Park Place requires a guaranteed count ten (10) days prior to your function. This is considered a guarantee and may not be reduced as food and beverage products have been ordered and received and staff schedules prepared. You will be billed the guaranteed number or actual attendance, whichever is greater.
Payment in full is required ten (10) days prior to your event if using a credit card, fourteen (14) days prior for payment by check, unless Direct Billing arrangements have been approved. Groups using a check for payment must also provide a credit card on file as a security deposit. Groups requesting exemption from state sales tax must provide qualifying information prior to the function date. Credit cards will be pre-authorized three (3) days prior and three (3) days post event for any changes.

A cash or hosted bar package can be made available to your guests. Guests must be 21 years of age with a valid photo ID to purchase or drink alcohol. All prices on alcoholic beverages are based on consumption and are subject to applicable Michigan sales tax. The Park Place Hotel is the only licensed authority to sell and serve liquor for consumption on the premises; therefore, liquor is not permitted to be brought into the resort venue space. Prices are subject to change.
Event materials may be shipped to arrive no more than seven (7) business days prior to contracted dates to the Park Place Hotel, 300 East State Street, Traverse City, Michigan 49684, ATTENTION: Banquets/GROUP NAME.
There will be a $100 disposal fee charged for box breakdown/ cleanup after event teardown. A fee of $100 or more may be incurred for additional/substantial setup or other changes requested on the day of the event. We do not allow the use of candles, glitter, tinsel, tacks or nails in our event spaces. Any event requiring extensive cleaning or resulting in property damage, will incur additional fees.
The Park Place Hotel reserves the right to inspect and control all private parties, dinners, meetings and other functions being held on the premises. The Park Place cannot assume any responsibility for damage to or loss of articles left in any banquet rooms or any part of the hotel, restaurant and parking lot. Please plan to remove all materials, displays and valuables at the end of your event. Function space Rental Fees and Cancellation Policy information will be detailed on the function contract.
There may be NO outside food or beverage brought on to the premises, with the exception of a specialty dessert that is prepared in a licensed commercial kitchen. Please note: Food and beverage pricing cannot be guaranteed until the time of menu selection. While every effort will be made to honor the rates of the current Banquet Menus, there may be items that become unavailable or only available at current market pricing, which may exceed pricing on this banquet menu. You will be informed of these situations and we may offer substitutions in the requested price range.
A $150 bartender fee is applicable to cash and hosted bars. A $150 attendant fee is applicable to beer and wine stations. A bartender is required for all host and cash bars. All applicable state laws will apply.
