OpeniT Asia employees run for access to clean water OpeniT Asia, Inc., an independent software vendor that specializes in metering, analyzing, and optimizing usage of critical IT assets, supported World Vision’s Global 6k Run for Water, wherein 92 employees across the Philippines and US joined forces to run for a cause last October 17, 2021. Through the event, OpenIT Asia employees were able to raise awareness on how to build a better world for the Filipino children, and cultivate a culture of generosity and kindness among them. The proceeds collected will benefit children and communities through water projects of World Vision. Six kilometers is the average distance people walk to get water for their families in the developing world. Often, the walk is dangerous and the water is unsafe to drink. The students learned small business ideas that they can do at home, such as making and selling ice candies.

Deloitte Philippines’ Impact Day gives their employees an avenue to use their passion and skills for the benefit of communities. On Impact Day, everyone is encouraged to take a break from work and instead, contribute time to the community. Some activities may include “developing strategic business plans for social enterprises, delivering lessons on business ethics and values in schools, hosting skills-building workshops for not-for-profit leaders, and providing skills-development programs and mentoring to young people.”
