OWNDAYS turned over “Cases for Change” proceeds to World Vision Last November 7, 2019, Japanese optical shop OWNDAYS turned over the proceeds from the “Cases for Change” campaign for the benefit of World Vision’s child-focused efforts and the ongoing earthquake response operations in Mindanao. “Cases for Change” is the promotional campaign for OWNDAYS customers to purchase eyeglass or sunglass cases to support various causes. “At OWNDAYS, we are always looking for ways to give back to society. One of the ways we do is [by] giving glasses to the needy through our Eye Camps. Now, we found another way –‘Cases for Change’, ” explained Vohne Yao, Managing Director of OWNDAYS Philippines. “We have chosen the Philippine Animal Welfare Society, World Wildlife Fund for Nature Philippines, and World Vision Philippines specifically because we would like to support animals, children, and the environment.”

SDG Run: Juan in Motion runners sped up for children The first ever Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Run: Juan in Motion gathered over 300 participants in UP Diliman, having World Vision as its benificiary cause. World Vision Resource Development Director, Jun Godornes expressed his thanks to the Youth Force Philippines for organizing the run. Awards were presented to the winners of the event, with World Vision’s newest ambassador for Health and Nutrition – Enzo Pineda. The run aimed to promote a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, as well as raise awareness of SDG.


EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT MyTown witnessed World Vision’s impact in a community in Batangas

Homeschool Global shared joy this season

To learn more about the impact of World Vision’s programs in the community, corporate volunteers can join A Vision Trip is an immersion for employees of corporate partners, organized by World Vision in its supported communities. Employees from MyTown had the opportunity to join a Vision Trip in Batangas, where they spent time different host families and saw firsthand how World Vision works with children and families to build sustainable communities.

On November 23, Homeschool Global, a global learning organization focused on homeschool learning, organized a simultaneous party in Manila, Malabon and Cebu for more than 450 children supported by World Vision. The celebration was the organization’s way of sharing joy with children and their families through games, foods and prizes.

Nexus Technologies trains children in information technology On November 23, volunteers from Nexus Technologies conducted an information technology training to more than 30 children from Batangas. With these training activities, Nexus Technologies aim to provide children with basic software and coding knowledge that are essential to their education.

World Vision Global Center employees shared their skills in Math

World Vision salutes Nasdaq Philippines and Nexus Technologies As staunch partners of World Vision, Nasdaq Philippines and Nexus Technologies received a “One for Children” plaque from the organization. This recognition is World Vision’s salute to corporations that actively get involved in activities and initiatives for the welfare of Filipino children.

More than 20 volunteers from Rakuten Viber held a party with children from Manila as part of their employee engagement and early Christmas merriment.

CAUSE-RELATED MARKETING CAMPAIGN Volunteers from World Vision’s International Shared Services in the Philippines held an arithmetic review class for children in Manila to refresh their skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Part of the proceeds will be donated to BRIGADA PAGBASA, a national campaign partnership of the Department of Education and World Vision to promote a culture of reading among children for a BRIGHTER future!
