World Vision mounts its third virtual CSR Summit in Mindanao Despite the lingering pandemic, the caring business community in southern Philippines was unfazed to meet together for World Vision’s CSR Summit in Davao held last May 25, 2021. Hosted by World Vision celebrity ambassador Joyce Pring-Trivino, the event highlighted various corporate social responsibility programs of organizations from Davao and other parts of the greater Mindanao region. Among the industry leaders who presented were The Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc.’s President Dr. Malou Monteverde, Mega Sardine’s Chief Growth and Development Officer Marvin Tiu Lim, CURE Philippine’s Executive Director Peter Cowles, and Dow Chemicals Indonesia President Riswan Sipayung. Cathy Ileto, a Board Trustee Member of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines, also led the forum which discussed about how CSR has become vital in surviving this pandemic, and choosing to do good can still go a long way.


Colgate-Palmolive collaborates with World Vision for a scholarship grant opportunity in Misamis Occidental Last May 12, World Vision PH and ColgatePalmolive PH held a virtual Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing event for the scholarship grant opportunity awarded to chosen students in Misamis Occidental. Led by Colgate-Palmolive PH’s President and General Manager, Arvind Sachdev and World Vision Development Foundation National Director, Rommel V. Fuerte, the virtual MOA signing event signified the unwaivering support of Colgate-Palmolive to World Vision’s cause in helping the most vulnerable children in the country. The grant opportunity award includes allowances for books, school materials and the like, for five chosen incoming college students in World Vision-assisted community in Misamis Occidental. Aside from the scholarship grant, the donation also includes the awarding of five hand-washing facilities in chosen partner schools in the area with limited access to clean and potable water. These facilities aid the learning and education of proper hygiene, such as proper handwashing procedure and proper brushing of teeth. With the official signing of the agreement, Colgate-Palmolive has strengthened its partnership with World Vision in providing fullness of life for every child.

Czech Embassy Manila donated educational materials to World Vision Manila Area Program Czech Embassy Manila joins World Vision for the turnover ceremony of educational materials to the Sen. Benigno S. Aquino Elementary School BASECO ALS Center on May 25, 2021. The simple program was attended by World Vision program managers and coordinators, ALS teachers, students, school principal, as well as the public school division supervisor of Department of Education (DepEd) Manila. The project aims to provide 80 youth from BASECO Compound in Manila with access to economic opportunities through education and help them prepare for employment.
