February 2022
Cultivating a culture of reading with Thrasio and World Vision Consumer goods company Thrasio partners with World Vision to launch a 16-week virtual Brigada Pagbasa Volunteerism Program that will benefit 30 Grade 3 students from ING Learning Center in Manila. Launched on February 12, 2022, each online session is held every Saturday for an hour. Lessons focus not only on developing children’s reading skills but also on instilling in them an innate love for reading. Volunteers from Thrasio use Brigada Pagbasa Unlock Literacy modules developed by PCI Innovations and World Vision. Each session is also divided into five breakout groups to facilitate friendly interactions among the volunteers and the children. Brigada Pagbasa is a project initiated by the Department of Education and World Vision to help improve basic literacy in the country. Thrasio’s virtual Brigada Pagbasa lessons run from February 12 to June 11, 2022.
