Joan Miro Philippines supports World Vision’s Back-to-School and Noche Buena Campaigns Joan Miro Philippines, a European company brand and the proponent of the APT Theory, recently donated to World Vision’s Back-to-School initiative and Noche Buena campaign. During the turnover ceremony held on December 14, 2021, no less than Joan Miro Philippines’ CEO Margieli Santos and Chairman Patrick Santos jointly handed the donation to World Vision representative and Resource Development Director Jun Godornes, who in part, returned with gratitude for their excitement to uplift less privileged children and their families. Thanks to Joan Miro Philippines’ generous support, more children in World Vision’s ongoing child-focused programs would receive school kits, while other assisted families have received in delight Noche Buena gift baskets last Christmas. Joan Miro Philppines has been a staunch advocate of the APT Theory which promotes art as a form of expression, play in enhancing learning, and thinking as an important path to self-discovery. This free-spirited and child-like approach has inspired the creation of Joan Miro and its influence throughout Europe and worldwide, and now in the Philippines.

Xiaomi Philippines gives joy this Christmas through World Vision’s Noche Buena Campaign Xiaomi, a popular consumer electronics company, shared blessings and joy to World Vision-assisted children and families, who excitedly received a total of 400 Noche Buena gift baskets. The fun-filled distribution happened on December 4, 2021 in one of the public schools in Manila, where World Vision runs it child-focused programs. “Kami po ay nagpapasalamat sa Xiaomi Philippines sa inyong supporta sa aming mga programa. Marami kayong napaligaya at napasayang pamilya ngayong December at umaasa kami na magpatuloy ang ating partnership,” said World Vision Resources Development Director Jun Godornes during the activity. “Marami po tayong matutulungan at mas maraming kabataan ang maitataguyod natin sa kahirapan,” added Godornes, as he paid gratitude to the overwhelming kindness of Xiaomi, which also donated, in addition, 400 school kits on December 9, 2021, to benefit Grade 11 highschool students in a World Vision-assisted community also in Manila.

World Vision joined the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) in celebrating the National Volunteer Month 2021 through an online forum entitled “New Normal na Walang Iwanan: Volunteering Opportunities Forum for Child Rights.”

Some of the World Vision employee engagement activities include expertise-sharing, celebrations of milestones, fundraising, crowd funding, and student volunteerism. Godornes also stressed the importance of using online platforms, volunteer orientation, child safeguarding, and feedbacking to ensure the sucess of the activities in immersing volunteers in the communities supported by World Vision.

In accordance to the theme “Volunteer Now: Spark Hope, Create Solutions, and Respond to Pandemic Challenges (Magboluntaryo Ngayon: Buhayin ang Pag-asa, Lumikha ng mga Solusyon, at Tumugon sa mga Hamon ng Pandemya)”, the forum featured talks from the Council for the Welfare of Children, World Vision, UNICEF, Child Hope Philippines, Kuya Center for Street Children. The event was streamed live on Zoom and Facebook.
