World Vision Newsletter for Church Partnerships April 2021

Different churches and worship teams join together in Songs of Joy Last Christmas, though families and churches celebrated apart, World Vision gathered them together in the digital space for a virtual worship night featuring songs of worship performed by Favor Church, gloryfall, Living Word, Victory Worship and special performances by Broken Chains and the Perkins Twins. It was a privilege to have Pastor Choy Magdaong of World Vision, Pastor James Aiton of Favor Church, Pastor Chad Williams of Union Church of Manila, Bishop Leo Alconga, Bishop Noel Pantoja of PCEC, and Pastor Paolo Punzalan of Victory Fort to give messages on Isaiah 9:6. World Vision also thanks Deaf Ministries of Favor Church, Victory Christian Fellowship, International Evangelical Church of Alabang, and Risen Savior for partnering with us, and Ms. Aimee Adiwang for interpreting the songs for the deaf community.

One Hope gives hope to World Vision children World Vision celebrates its partnership with Christian organization OneHope Philippines. OneHope is known for creating materials for children to lead them to Christ. Some of their materials are Superbook, and Ang Tulay, and even the Kids Bible App “Aklat ng Pag-Asa” and book with YouVersion. OneHope Philippines has donated hardbound copies of their materials to registered children of World Vision. 13,890 children from 4 to 9 years old will receive The Bible App for Kids Book of Hope (Tagalog); 13,018 children from 10 to 12 years old will receive Aklat ng Pag-Asa; and 12,229 13 year-olds will receive the Book of Hope. A total of 39,137 copies will be given to 39,173 children across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao communities of World Vision.

Reflection on Holy Week with pastors’ devotionals Holy Week 2021 was graced with different pastors and church leaders sharing their personal reflections through a devotional material for each day of the Holy Week. The reflection materials are written by Pastor Paolo Punzalan of Victory Fort, Bishop Noel Pantoja of PCEC, KC Tolentino of Jesus the Cornerstone Christian Ministries, Pastor Paolo Pacis of Word for the World-Mandaluyong, Dr. Larry Pabiona of Greenhills Christian Fellowship, Pastor John Quintana of Living Word Churches, Dr. Stephen Tan of Grace Christian Church of the Philippines, and Pastor Choy Magdaong of World Vision. From Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, each material takes a historical account of the days leading up to Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. Readers were yet again reminded of God’s holiness and grace in the display of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. These materials were shared on World Vision Development Foundation’s website, social media, and mailing list. Many of those who were reached through these materials expressed how blessed they are to read the articles and how they desire to read such articles regularly. This is an open invitation to churches to contribute through devotional materials to encourage, rebuke, and bless partners and donors of World Vision.
