MAKING AN IMPACT

The Ministry of Being Present and Praying A mother of one of our new clients called and told me her 17-year-old unmarried teenager was in the hospital. She was in pre-mature labor. She was only 23 weeks along and they immediately did an ultrasound to find out if the baby was okay. The pregnancy was in trouble. So the hospital kept the teenager for 10 weeks in order to monitor her. This teenage daughter has been somewhat rebellious and moved out of her parents’ home. But now she needs them. The parents are believers, but not sure where the daughter's heart is. I called their pastor and we prayed about how we could encourage them. I messaged some of my church friends to go by and see her and send cards. I also called “Angie” in the hospital to see how she was doing. She is bored. She doesn't like the food. She’s upset that the baby’s daddy has moved on. He shows no interest in her or the baby anymore. She is lonely. She is confused. She is hurting. But, she is right where God wants her ... for a reason. We visited her in the hospital and brought her some food. We also prayed with her. Then we sent her cards and did all we could to encourage her and her parents. Just staying in contact with her is the key to building a relationship. It gives opportunity to share the Good News of the Gospel and show the love of Jesus in tangible ways.
