LOVEDALE

Long Lunch 2020 Gather some friends and make the pilgrimage to Lovedale in May to indulge in the Hunter’s most popular progressive-style event, the Lovedale Long Lunch to be held 16 and 17 of May throughout various venues in Lovedale. Set in the grounds of seven of Lovedale’s most elegant and exciting cellar doors and vineyards, the iconic event serves up a weekend of premium wine tasting, accompanied by a mouth-watering menu put together by some of the finest chefs in the Hunter Valley. Live entertainment is also on offer at each venue, with music from some of the region’s most popular bands and solo acts guaranteed to keep the atmosphere upbeat for the thousands of visitors who flock to the annual event. Celebrating its 27th year, the Lovedale Long Lunch will be held across the following wineries: Allandale Winery, Emma’s Cottage Vineyard, Gartelmann Wines, Saltire Estate, Sandalyn Wilderness Estate, Tatler Wines and Wandin Estate. The fabulous restaurants joining the “Long Lunch” for 2020 are Tatler Tapas, Wandin Kitchen, The Deck Café, Amanda’s on the Edge, Yellow Billy, Restaurant Cuvee and Newy Burger. Event tickets can be purchased for either the Saturday or Sunday, or as a weekend package, and include entry to three wineries each day, vouchers for one, two or three main meals (depending on the ticket purchased), as well as a dessert or cheese plate and a souvenir wine tasting glass.

Sunday 17th May

For those of you that like your days tasting wine and food a bit quieter, then we recommend that you come to the Lovedale Long Lunch on Sunday. Grab your ticket, spend a relaxing day visiting your favourite Lovedale Long Lunch destinations, take advantage of the tasting tents, sample the extensive range of wonderful wines and sit back and enjoy a glass of wine with your friends. You’ll experience casual al fresco dining with food from the best restaurants the Hunter Valley has to offer and enjoy the music, reminiscent of days past of the Lovedale Long Lunch. An institution on the Hunter tourism calendar, tickets for the event always sell quickly, with some wineries/days selling out in previous years so make sure you secure yours early. A number of bus tour companies offer combined ticket and transport packages, while other visitors prefer to arrange their own private charter to allow them to select their preferred itinerary. For those who have never been to the Lovedale Long Lunch, the weekend offers a wine and food tasting experience not to be missed, with the Saturday known for its big, party vibe and the Sunday perfect for those looking for a more laidback affair.

Saturday 16th May

Saturday is the big day, lots of fun and enjoyment with many loyal long luncher’s – groups of family and friends, big and small. The weekend sees everything from themed attire to elegant daywear – such as the girls who come every year in a different coloured tutu, or the well-dressed lads in smart collared shirts and moleskins. There are the ladies who would not be out of place at the polo. No matter what you wear, or your style, we want you to look your best.
