THREE CHEERS FOR HARPER ROHR!
Harper is a 13-year-old boy who lives in the Grange part of Willowsford with his parents; younger brother, Bennett; and younger sister, Gracie. Harper participates in multiple sports, such as baseball, football, basketball and swimming, and is a pro at each and every one. He started these sports when he was very little and is continuing to pursue them. He aspired to these sports since his parents signed him up, but he’s passionate about every sport he tries. He mainly practices at the sanctioned practices but also lifts and practices at his house almost every day. Having to practice every day is hard for Harper, but it has made him a stronger person overall, mentally and physically. Since most sports have teams, you can bet he is on a few. For baseball, he plays for BBA, Thunder for football, and he swims for Willowsford Waves. Harper is able to travel because of these sports, and the coolest place he’s traveled to is the WVU baseball field. Additionally, he has earned various awards in his sports career. He has received the coaches’ award for basketball and swimming. He also was most improved in his age group for swimming this past summer. The moment Harper felt most elated was when he hit his very first home run. A word of advice from Harper is to start at a younger age and make sure to practice at home. Overall, Harper has learned that hard work pays off, and that is his motive.

Gracie is a 9-year-old girl who participates in dance, field hockey and swimming. She has been dancing the longest, for six years, swimming for three years, and field hockey for two. She began to dance because she loved the way ballerinas dance. She was inspired to do field hockey by her mom, who played when in her childhood. And she wanted to do swimming since her brothers were doing it. She practices dancing at NEDA, field hockey at Potomac Field Hockey, and swims for Willowsford Waves. She is also on a team for every single one. Gracie travels for dance competitions, and her favorite moment was when she got to go up and get a banner for her jazz dance. Gracie has earned the most improved awards for swimming and platinum and high gold awards for her lyrical and jazz dances. Gracie has learned how to swim butterfly, how to dribble in field hockey, and how to do a pirouette in dance. Gracie loves her sports because she gets a chance to bond and play with her friends, and these sports have made her a strong person. For all sports fans out there, Gracie says, “Try your best.”
