How to Move a Car

Whether you bought a new car from another state or you are moving your old car to your new home, you need to complete it to move your car interstate legally and without delay. If you're moving your car interstate, here's what you're going to need:
1. Take care of the paperwork To move your car interstate, make sure that you will need to provide documents such as proof of ownership, valid driver's licence, photo ID, and vehicle identification number or VIN.
2. Vehicle cleaning It is important to thoroughly clean the interior and exterior of the vehicle before it is brought in for inspection. Whilst they won't ask for the vehicle's maintenance history, the vehicle owner is responsible for making sure that the vehicle is safe and in good working condition.
3. Keys and fuel Disconnect the battery and drain the fuel, leaving only 1/4 of gas in the tank. It is also recommended that you keep the second set of keys handy and note your odometer reading beforehand.
4. Remove personal items Moving companies usually don't move cars that contain other items other than those removed from the car and some tools that may be required during the move. It is recommended that you remove all personal effects before cleaning the car to make it easier to remove dust, dirt, and other rubbish that may hinder the cleaning process.
5. Final preparations Check your oil, tyre pressure, and battery condition for the final prep. Check the compartment and other areas where you usually keep other items when you're driving. Make sure that the only things in your car are only accessories or When possible, take photos of your cars on all sides, as well as photos that may be useful in case you need to make insurance claims. This will also help you keep track of old and new damages when your car arrives in your new home.
