A TEAM COACH

ROB CAMPBELL

Whitehaven “A” Team Head Coach Rob Campbell has led a large volume of successful junior girls team in the club, he recently took over the reigns as the first “A” Team Coach after being an Assistant First Team Coach last season.

Today we welcome Dalton United Arrows Ladies to the County Ground in what is our 7th game of the season in the Lancashire North Division 1 and marks the halfway stage of the league.

It’s been solid start to the campaign and we probably were exceeding our own expectations since the team was formed in only July. The ladies have competed in every game we have played and even in our most difficult period over the last 3 weeks with injuries and absences within the team and playing top teams such as Penrith, Workington & league leaders Abbeytown, the lasses have shown great grit, played some lovely football at times and certainly in 2/3 games the 3 points could very well of come to us if we had been a little more clinical with our finishing.

This will be a very first meeting with Dalton Ladies as we welcome them to the county ground and in fact we will then play them away next week. Dalton are also a new team and through the course of the campaign so far you can see real improvement in their results especially earning an away point at Penrith last week so we are expecting another solid test where we will need to do many things right to win the game.

Another home game means yet more generous sponsors!

Our Match Day and Ball is the amazing AMENTUM, and we really appreciate their total support for our Ladies teams.

Many thanks again to our main sponsors Nuclear Waste Services, Amentum, Express Plumbing Supplies Amentum, HCS Water Treatment, Holmen Iggesund

Enjoy the game!

LAST TIME OUT

WHITEHAVEN 1ST TEAM 2 GT7 LADIES 0 ABBYTOWN 6 WHITEHAVEN

The Ladies 1st team continued in the winning streak, with a good 2-0 victory against GT7 Ladies. The previous games had been tight, and although we dominated the 1st half, GT7 kept asking questions throughout the 2nd half. A first half goal from Ella Beadsmoore and a 2nd half goal from Eden Stainton secured the 3 points.

The ‘A’ Team faced a tough test at Abbeytown, who are now in their 2nd season in the Lancashire North West Division 1. Their age and experience showed against our young team, but coach Rob Campbell picked up some valuable learning points from the game.

NEXT GEN LIONESSES

UNDER 13 GIRLS

Our u13 Girls have 27 girls and 2 teams representing the club in the U14 Girls WCYL.

We have our Blues and Yellows team both competing in the competitive league. Many of the girls have been together since they were 6 years old and now going into their 6th season. The girls and group come together off and on the field as a footie family.

Last season our Blue team took the double, winners of the u12 WCYL and also the u12 League Cup.

The girls also scored away from the pitch, with away days together and also raising money for charity as a group.

The girls are a great bunch and are a pleasure to coach, and create a positive and safe environment to enable football for all, and we’ve been proud to also support many girls from this group joining local ETC’s.

Keep an eye out for these girls in only a couple of years looking to join our senior set up through our amazing ladies pathway.
