To help families plan with confidence, the chart below outlines important information for each camp program, including grade level, provider type, eligibility for discounts, financial assistance, payment plans, and extended care availability.
REGISTRATION START DATE
• Residents Registration: February 11, 2026, 8:00 am.
• Non-Residents Registration: February 18, 2026, 8:00 am.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE
Campers must be registered by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, two (2) weeks prior to the camp week they are attending, if space allows.
HOW TO REGISTER

• In-Person: 100 Community Boulevard, Wheeling.
Payment is accepted by cash, check, and all major credit cards.
Resident means you live within the Wheeling Park District boundaries. If you have never used our registration system and want to qualify for resident fees, please stop by the Guest Service Desk at the CRC and show proof of residency status. Valid driver’s license, utility bill, copy of lease or mortgage agreement are acceptable forms of proof.
All children enrolled as students in CCSD21 and CCSD23 are granted resident rates on qualifying non-contractual youth programs.
Payment plans are available to campers attending a minimum of 3 weeks of camp. Families interested in payment plans must register, in person, no later than May 10. Payment Plan schedules are determined based on the date of approval.
Wheeling Park District residents may apply for financial assistance. The Financial Assistance Application can be found on the district website. The deadline to apply for camp financial assistance is 5:00 pm, Wednesday, three (3) weeks prior to the camp week they wish to attend, if space allows.
The Wheeling Park District is proud to be a member of Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA). Throughout the northwest suburbs, NWSRA is the leader in providing outstanding recreational opportunities for children and adults with disabilities. This means that individuals with disabilities are able to participate in programs offered by the Park District. If your child is in need of NWSRA inclusion assistance please contact Bethany Koudelka by email at bkoudelka@ wheelingparkdistrict.com to make a request. Please note that NWSRA requires a minimum of 2 weeks notice for all requests.
ePACT is the health and safety software the district uses for medical emergency information. Invites will be emailed to the primary email address on the park district account. ePACT must be completed before the first day of camp. Campers will not be allowed to attend camp if ePACT registration is not fully completed. Any tech support must be done via ePACT, NOT WPD Staff.
Some field trips may require families to submit an external trip waiver in order for their child to participate in the planned activity(s) and/or be on site. Campers will not be allowed to attend camp if the trip waiver is not fully completed by the provided deadline. Any tech support must be done via the site provider, NOT WPD Staff.
• All camp groups will be made based on grade with the exception of Little Campers & Bright Beginnings. Groups are subject to change week to week due to flexible enrollment options. FRIENDSHIP REQUESTS
• Friendship Requests are available to Camp Wonder, Epic Explorers, and Rising Rookies only. Friendship requests will only be considered if both participants submit a request online no later than 2 weeks prior to the camp week and are in the same grade.
• Requests are limited to 2 other campers for the entirety of the summer.
• Requests are considered but not guaranteed. No requests will be accepted after June 19. Siblings may not automatically be in the same group and requests for siblings in different grades to be in the same group will not be accepted.
• Counselor Requests are not accepted.
• Refund requests must be submitted by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, two (2) weeks prior to the start of the camp week or session.
• All refund requests must be submitted through the Park District website using the online form.
• Service Fee: A non-refundable $25 service fee per camper, per transaction applies to all approved refund requests.
• Refunds or prorations will not be issued for missed camp days due to illness, vacation, or other personal reasons, except in cases of long-term illness or injury accompanied by a dated physician’s note.
• Transfer requests must be submitted by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, two (2) weeks prior to the start of the camp week or session, if space allows.
• All transfer requests must be submitted through the Park District website using the online form.
• Service Fees: The first three (3) approved transfers are free. Each additional approved transfer is subject to a $10 service fee per camper, per transaction.
• Transfers are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
• If a transfer request cannot be approved due to availability, alternative options will be offered with a specified confirmation deadline.
• Waitlists are reserved for campers not currently enrolled in a camp occurring during the same camp session dates.
• Each eligible camper may be placed on one waitlist per week, either online or in person.
• Notification Process: Families will be notified only if a space becomes available, no later than Friday, two (2) weeks prior to the camp week.
• To secure placement, families must confirm enrollment and submit full payment by the stated deadline.
• Failure to respond or submit payment by the deadline may result in forfeiture of all waitlist placements.
Grade: PK (3 - 4 years old as of January 1, 2026) Through themes like nature, music, and animals, campers will explore, create, and make. Weekly music lessons from Rock ‘n’ Kids and visits to the indoor pool are also part of the fun. Designed and supervised by our early childhood education teachers, Lil’ Campers is the perfect camp for 3- and 4-year-olds planning to attend preschool in the fall! Campers must be fully and independently toilet trained by the first day of camp.

Campers preparing for kindergarten are encouraged to explore, play, and build independence in a fun, supportive environment. Each week features a new theme filled with games, crafts, movement, and plenty of opportunities for imaginative play.
Swim lessons are provided twice a week by the Wheeling Park District Aquatics Team, followed by free play in the indoor pool. Special outside entertainment also comes to camp, adding extra excitement to the week.
Campers must be fully and independently toilet trained by the first day of camp.

At Camp Wonder, children step into a world of fun, curiosity, and adventure. Each week is filled with games, arts and crafts, sports, and special activities designed to spark imagination, build friendships, and inspire growth. Our caring staff create a welcoming space where every camper can explore and play through themed camp weeks. Visits to the indoor pool and a local aquatic center 1x per week, and special on-site entertainment also add extra excitement.

Campers dive into a variety of creative activities designed to spark curiosity while exploring weekly themes. Get moving in an active, fun-filled environment where campers of all skill levels can build confidence, teamwork, and a love for physical activity. Each week, campers participate in a variety of games, sports, and challenges designed to develop coordination, fitness, and sportsmanship. Campers also receive specialized instruction twice per week from Hot Shots Sports, giving them the opportunity to focus on a particular sport and sharpen their skills under expert guidance.

This camp focuses on a variety of sports including flag football, basketball, baseball, kickball, soccer, capture the flag, and other group games. SUMMER SOCCER SKILLS
Through specifically designed small-sided games and scrimmages, each camp session focuses on precision passing, targeted shooting and intermediate to advanced ball control techniques.
SUMMER BASKETBALL SKILLS
Campers improve their basketball fundamentals, learn advanced skills, and enhance their teamwork. Dribbling, passing, rebounding, shooting and defense skills are developed. Campers are divided into groups based on age, size and ability.
SUMMER VOLLEYBALL SKILLS
Players will receive a solid foundation on the fundamental skills of volleyball through fun and active drills. Daily scrimmages will allow players to use these skills in a game environment.
SUMMER SPORTS BATTLE: NERF® & DODGEBALL CAMP
This camp features games from two of our most popular classes: Dodgeball and NERF® Elite Battle! All equipment including eye protection will be provided. Dodgeball uses super soft balls and safety is stressed during game play.

Designed to ignite the imaginations of young writers, foster their love for language, and cultivate their creative expression. Through exploration of classic literature, inspiring writing exercises, creative language games and collaboration, students will explore different genres, learn and practice grammatical concepts, develop their writing skills, and build confidence in their ability to communicate effectively.
Boost your confidence in a relaxed, fun environment while learning theatrical skills, improv basics and playing interactive drama games. This is an opportunity for students to have fun, express themselves, interact with others within the context of theatre arts.
Campers will develop short scenes and stories and then learn how to effectively bring their words to life through acting techniques involving character development, projection, diction, movement, and expression. This camp is perfect for young storytellers, budding performers, and anyone who loves to create, express themselves, and have fun in a supportive environment.

Bring LEGO® worlds to life! We provide the supplies. You provide your imagination. Work in groups to create a LEGO® set with LEGO® characters for a stop-motion movie you’ll storyboard, shoot, and add voice-over too. Flix emailed within a month after camp ends.

Our Junior Lifeguard Program is a two-week camp that blends water safety and lifeguarding fundamentals with traditional camp games and activities. Participants will build swimming skills, learn basic lifeguard responsibilities, and develop teamwork and leadership through hands-on instruction and group challenges. The program runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm and includes one aquatic field trip per week. This program is not a lifeguard certification, but serves as a great introduction for youth interested in future lifeguarding opportunities.

The Wheeling Park District is committed to conducting its recreation programs and activities in a safe manner and holds the safety of participants in high regard. The Wheeling Park District continually strives to reduce such risks and insists that all participants follow safety rules and instructions that are designed to protect the participants’ safety. However, participants and parents/guardians of minors registering for this program/activity must recognize that there is an inherent risk of injury when choosing to participate in recreational activities/ programs.
You are solely responsible for determining if you or your minor child/ward are physically fit and/or adequately skilled for the activities contemplated by this agreement. It is always advisable, especially if the participant is pregnant, disabled in any way or has recently suffered an illness, injury or impairment, to consult a physician before undertaking any physical activity.
Recreational activities are intended to challenge and engage the physical, mental and emotional resources of each participant. Despite careful and proper preparation, instruction, medical advice, conditioning and equipment, there is still a risk of serious injury when participating in any recreational activity. All hazards and dangers cannot be foreseen Depending on the particular activity, certain risks, dangers and injuries may exist due to inclement weather, slips and falls, poor skill level or conditioning, carelessness, horseplay, unsportsmanlike conduct, premises defects, inadequate or defective equipment, inadequate supervision, instruction or officiating and other risks inherent to the particular activity. In this regard, it is impossible for the Wheeling Park District to guarantee absolute safety.

Completion of all required camper ePACT information is mandatory prior to the first day of camp. Campers may not attend unless all information is submitted in full.

Step 2: Enter your Username and Password.

New User: If you are brand new to our district, please click the ‘Create an Account’ button and enter in your information and the information of all household members that reside at your address.
Registered User: If you or anyone in your household has EVER registered for any Wheeling Park District program or membership, you have an active park district account. Do NOT create a new account. If you do not know your password, please select ‘Forgot Password’ to reset your password. If further assistance is needed please contact us at 847.465.3333 or frontdesk@wheelingparkdistrict.com.
Step 3: Select “Summer Camps” to view all camps. If you know the specific camp you’d like, type in the 6-digit activity number under Activity Code.
Step 4: 5-Day Camps Option: Select the Checkbox(es) then select the “Add to Cart” from the bottom pop-up. Skip to Step 7.

Flex Camps Option: Select the “Go To Calendar” to bring up the dates for the camp you are choosing.

Select the dates the camper will be attending. All selected options will pop up at the bottom of the screen. Once you finish selecting all days for that camp, click on “Add to Cart” at the bottom of the screen.

Step 5: Check the box next to each desired registrant(s) and select “Continue”.

Step 6: Complete waiver form by checking on the waiver agreement box and select “Continue”.

Step 7: The days you are registering each participant for will appear in your shopping cart. To add more camps, select Continue Shopping. If done shopping, click Checkout.

Step 8: Review the Summary.
Step 9: Enter payment information and select Continue to complete. Online registrations must be paid in full.
Step 10: Once your registration has been completed, a receipt will be sent to your email from frontdesk@wheelingparkdistrict.com. You may need to check your spam folder following your first transaction.
