UK University Pathway Programme

Welcome

I am delighted to announce the launch of the Wellington College International UK University Pathway Programme. Every year we will welcome up to 50 post-GCSE students from across the Wellington College Family of Schools for a ten-day immersive course dedicated to exploring Higher Education in the UK.

This Pathway Programme offers students a unique opportunity to live out the core Wellington College Values. Our carefully designed schedule will inspire students to aim high, push their limits, and fully realise their potential. By fostering confidence and belief in their capabilities, we aim to equip students with the tools to thrive not just at university but in all aspects of their future careers.

The programme will empower students to take ownership of their learning journey and develop essential skills for success in Higher Education. It will also challenge their preconceptions about university life, offering a platform to express their aspirations, concerns, and any perceived barriers to applying.

Through structured guidance, students will learn to identify key decision-making factors, access valuable resources, and make informed, confident choices about their future studies.

I am truly excited about the depth and quality of this comprehensive programme, and I look forward to sharing this enriching experience with our students.

History of the College

Wellington College is one of the UK’s — and indeed the world’s — great coeducational boarding and day schools. The College is set in 400 acres of beautiful parkland and is home to a blend of breathtaking original architecture and modern state-of-the-art facilities to provide the best possible educational environment for students.

The school was founded in 1853 as the living memorial to the Duke of Wellington, described by Queen Victoria as “the greatest man this country has ever produced”.

A wonderful fusion of heritage and modernity characterises the educational philosophy. Wellington College is a school which is dynamic in every sense of the word, and yet all that is rooted firmly in the five College values which underpin every aspect of life here at Wellington College.
