What’s New?

Facilities across Our Schools

As the student cohort continues to grow each year, so do the outstanding facilities at Wellington College International Pune. Designed by award-winning British architects, the campus features state-of-theart amenities that cater to a wide range of academic and co-curricular activities. The facilities include bespoke learning studios, a half-Olympic indoor swimming pool, a 370-seat theatre, a robotics lab, and a DT Centre.

Wellington College Bangkok has officially opened its Sixth Form, currently situated on the top floor of the state-of-the-art Skylight Building. It will relocate to a bespoke Sixth Form building, set to open its doors in September 2025.

Accreditations

Accreditations Earned by Our Schools

All three schools on the Hangzhou campus received nine commendations as well as obtaining a Beacon Status Award following its recent COBIS inspection, marking a significant achievement for the schools as well as the wider Wellington College China community.

Wellington College International Pune has earned the prestigious COBIS Compliance Status, a remarkable achievement accomplished within just two years of opening. COBIS stated “Students are friendly, mature, and inquisitive, while the school excels in both its academic and pastoral offerings”. “The facilities at Wellington are outstanding, and its values are more than just words — they are actively embraced and lived out by both students and staff every day”.

International Women’s Day was a chance for international schools to

celebrate and embrace the theme “Accelerate Action,” focusing on the importance of advancing gender equality and empowering women around the world.

Connections and Programmes

Collaboration Across the Community

These initiatives have become an important way to strengthen the bonds within the Wellington community, while encouraging cultural exchange and broadening students’ educational experiences.

Student International Exchange

Over the past 8 years, the College and Wellington College International Bangkok have been running an exchange programme offering thestudents the chance to experience culture and learning at eachothers campuses. Students are matched with peers from the host school, starting with online interactions that help them build connections, align expectations, and share interests. Hear more about the exchange experience on JetStream, hosted by Senior International Director, Chris Woolf. In Episode #20 Chris speaks to four students on the 2025 program, while Episode #10 features Izzy and Rupert discussing their exchange in 2024.

The Summer School Programme

The two week program held every July at the College is designed for students within the Wellington College Education network. David Wilson, International Academic Director, states “At Wellington College, we believe in the power of education to transform lives. Our summer school not only enhances academic skills but also promotes personal growth, leadership, and a deeper understanding of different cultures.”

Peer Mentoring Programme

Now in its fourth year, the Peer Mentoring Programme continues between the College and Wellington College International Bangkok.

Each year, the U6th students from the College partner with 3rd Form students from WCIB in a structured mentoring programme, running weekly from October to February. The sessions address essential topics such as GCSE selection, peer relationships, effective revision techniques, and cross-cultural perspectives. This annual initiative equips students with valuable insights, enriching their educational experiences.

Jetstream features highlights from the programme in two episodes: Episode #21, features Jessy and Harry discussing their peer mentoring experience in 2025, and Episode #11, features Sam and Aidan reflecting on their experience in 2024.

Old Wellingtonian Internships

The Internship Programme provides recent OWs an opportunity to gain valuable experience at our international schools in Pune, Bangkok and China. OWs can develop their professional skills, work within diverse educational environments, and immerse themselves in new cultures.

For insights into the OW Internship Programme, Jetstream features two episodes: Episode #6 explores the experiences of interns in Pune, while Episode #19 reflects on the opportunities and growth from internships in Hangzhou.

The UUPP Programme

The University Pathway Programme (UUPP) is designed to inspire, educate, and support international students as they explore opportunities at leading UK universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, and London.

Led by International Academic Director, Rachel Loaring, the programme helps students navigate the UK Higher Education process through expert guidance and interactive workshops that build skills in communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Festival of Education Bangkok

The Second Thailand Festival of Education took place on November 9th 2024, at Wellington College International School Bangkok.

This event brought together hundreds of educators from across Bangkok and beyond, creating a vibrant atmosphere for sharing ideas, fostering creativity, and building connections.

The 8th China Festival of Education took place on April 12th 2025 and was a resounding success! Over 70 speakers and more than 800 attendees from around the world joined us at Wellington College International Shanghai. It was an engaging, inspiring day of talks and workshops that explored education through the lenses of technology, family-school collaboration, wellbeing and so much more.
