TREATING ACNE

Question: While acne is a very popular skin condition, treatment can be very tough. Is there anything that can still be done after all creams have failed? Answer: Acne is the most common skin condition on the planet and there are many acne treatment products available, some more effective than others. When treating acne, it is a good idea to try and understand the root cause of acne. Unfortunately, standard practitioners and dermatologists will provide very few clear answers. Acne, eczema, rosacea, warts, chaffing, or skin fungal infections all appear to be skin issues, but the truth is they are merely outward signs that there is an inner imbalance. In fact, educated, holistic practitioners will tell you which organ is malfunctioning according to the location of the pimples on the face! As long as the root cause won’t be addressed, creams and antibiotics will not do much in terms of long-term healing. You can clear your acne for good and create the beautiful complexion you’ve always wanted by improving your health. 1) Diet - In order to heal your body from skin issues, eating a clean, traditional diet high in good fats, organic fruits and veggies, and quality proteins is essential. Processed foods, starchy carbs, and sugars especially, contribute to clogging your flow system which in turn can create skin issues. The more good fats are consumed, the quicker the healing will take place. Contrary to popular belief, fat will not make those pimples pop out; it is the margarine, vegetable oils, and processed toxic fats that severely damage your system. 2) Fermented Foods – Our bodies are 10 times more microorganism cells then we are human cells, which shows how important it is to replenish them by eating fermented/probiotic foods. Whether you make it yourself or buy from a trusted source, get a good helping of fermented veggies and yogurt each day. 3) Bone Broth – Good old chicken soup is called “Liquid Gold”. Many think it’s just water but in essence it is packed with vitamins and minerals that help restore the gut and digestive system. Eating a bowl or two each day can bring amazing transformation. 4) Liver Cleanse – Liver detox smoothies or liver cleansing supplements will do wonders for your system. Done on a constant basis, the resulting purge of toxins will be extremely beneficial for many skin conditions. 5) Coconut Oil – Coconut oil is one of the most wondrous foods on our planet and is known for its anti-microbial properties. Applied directly to skin, it can do wonders in a short amount of time. For those who have coconut sensitivities, beef tallow can be just as effective. 6) Avoid Harmful Foods - ALL sugar, starchy foods, processed food, fast food, soda, packaged/boxed food and GMO's are food for pathogenic microbes. In addition, grains, especially gluten, are pro-inflammatory and usually contribute to skin ailments in those with leaky gut or other inflammation-prone conditions. 7) Probiotic Supplementation - Rebalance your microbiome with a good quality probiotic daily. This step is essential for clearing the terrain. 88
