Seven simple steps to (finally!) get your summer photo organization project underway Sorting and organizing your photos is a daunting job, so it’s understandable that many of us keep pushing it off.

But now is as good a time as any. And wouldn’t it be great to finally check this task off your list? Make it happen this summer and think of how rewarding it’ll be to see all your photos in one place, organized and stored, available for your family and friends to enjoy.

Don’t try to tackle all of your pictures in one sitting. It’s an unrealistic goal, and you’ll lose motivation if you try to do it all at once. You’ll need at least an hour to make progress, but don’t plan on working more than two hours at a time before taking a break. Setting a timer for as little as 15 to 30 minutes each day is another way that works for many people.

1) Collect your hard drives. Start with gathering all your hard drives, whether CD’s, SD cards, old and current cellphones or USB’s in one place.

For each year, create yearly markers such as “chanukah 2019” “winter 2019” “Chol Hamoed Pesach 2019” and “Summer 2019”, as well as any major event of that year such as “Sury’s Wedding 2019” “Shimon’s Chumash Sueda” etc. By tabbing the events of each year, you’ll be able to cover ground and figure out whether or not you’ve already selected, developed, and stored those photos or whether it belongs on your to do list.

4) Write a To-Do List. Once your timelines have been reviewed and color coded, you can create your to do list. Divide your list into three main categories, to select and print, to sort, and to insert. Each column will have the time or event you need to tackle, and the number or alphabet of the hard drive source, e.g. Select Print Order/ Graduation 2019 : SD card #8, or Insert/ Summer 2017.

3) Color code your timelines. Take a few color markers, pens or highlighters to color code your timelines. Use one color for each of the tasks you need

Otherwise, make it a morning out and try to get to your local photo kiosk, or computer kiosk, and select your photos. Try not to sit over it too long, and create a few extra prints 153

if need be, and you’ll decide on which ones to keep once you have the hard copies in front of you. Remember, done is better than perfect.

6) Sort your photos by time or category. Give yourself enough space and spread out in a place where there is enough room to scatter all your printed photos. Label your piles by time or event, and pencil the back of your photos as you start sorting them through. Don’t worry if your chronological sorting is not perfect. You can always tweak it later. You can also sort by themes such as vacations and birthdays or by person. If you plan on having a little young crew joining you, equip them with cotton gloves so your prints don’t get smudged. Another very helpful tool for this step is to use the Photo & Kraft Keeper by Recollections sold at many craft and online stores.

This neat container comes with 16 4x6 individual clear units, each one holding up to 100 prints. Until you load your albums, you can categorize your photos there. It also helps you close shop in a way where you can easily get right back to it later. And don’t be a photo hoarder.

Don’t be afraid to toss any doubles, eye squints, blurry shots, and any bland picture that doesn’t tell you much. The prints you’re feeling sorry to dispose of but still don’t want displayed into your albums can be dumped into a shoebox to go up into your attic or just for fun and extracurricular purposes like letting your little ones craft with them.

7) Lastly, invest in a set of quality photo albums and insert your pictures. Find a quality, acid free photo album, preferably a binder style that allows you the flexibility to move or add photos as needed. Make sure to buy one that is strong enough to both protect your precious memories and be shared with family and friends. Think of it as a long term investment. Remember, you are defeating the purpose of this lengthy and time consuming process if you plan on keeping your photos out of reach, high up on the shelf, because WeeklyLink.com

Our bodies are composed of 75% water. We need water plus electrolytes to survive because it helps balance the chemicals that keep our bodies working.

We can survive weeks without food but only days without water.

you can experience dizziness when standing up. You very likely will stop sweating and your body may become clammy. You will experience muscle cramps as a result of circulation being preserved for your vital organs.

Low blood pressure and a fast heart rate is not only a common symptom but the alarming vital signs of dehydration.

As your dehydration increases so do your symptoms.

Water is found in our cells, within our cells, and outside our cells. It’s literally in our whole body. And that’s a good thing because it helps us flush waste, form saliva for food intake which fuels us, lubricates our joints, and cushions our spinal cord and brain.

Severe dehydration may manifest itself as feeling faint with confusion and weakness as the other body organs receive less blood flow.

What happens when we release more water than we take in?

Dehydration treatment is simple. Replenish fluids and electrolytes.

The body needs to preserve that water to support our vital organs such as the heart, lungs, brain, and kidneys.

If you feel dehydrated, find a cool spot and drink 3-4 cups of water with electrolytes in ten minutes. You should start feeling better within an hour or so. To completely rehydrate your body can take up to thirty-six hours.

So your initial symptoms may present themselves as thirst, headache, and decreased urine output. Interesting to note, very often when you crave sweets it’s your body letting you know it’s thirsty.

However, as the body continues to protect itself your mouth may feel dry and the chemical buildup will cause poor breath.

It is potentially life-threatening and can lead to organ failure.

Immediate medical attention is needed.

It’s important to hydrate before you leave the house.

Eating foods with a high water content such as cucumbers, watermelon, and other fruits and vegetables will help you stay hydrated.

• Limit drinks with caffeine such as coffee tea and soda, since they act as a diuretic.

The same can be said for alcoholic beverages — limit those as well.
