Welcome to Stratford’s Super September Saturday It’s always a difficult time of the year for summer jumps tracks, summer horses have been busy since May and the winter horses are not yet back in full work and racing so we are delighted to have so many runners and thank the owners and trainers for supporting our course during the season.
I would also like to thank our groundstaff and race day racecourse teams all of whom have worked incredibly hard during a very hot summer; to make the course look glorious and provide an excellent welcome to racegoers on a raceday. Thank you everyone
We would also like to thank all of this afternoons sponsors some of whom have supported the course for numerous years. We wish them and their guests a great afternoons racing
Looking to the future we have 3 fixtures in October; Monday 6th, Saturday 18 th and to finish the season Thursday 30th October
All of us here at Stratford Racecourse are committed to ensuring that you have a great day out. If you have any suggestions, complaints, questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact us. “Racing’s top priority is the safety and welfare of horse and rider”. Like most sports racing carries risks, however, we work to make sure that no death or injury occurs, which could have been prevented. Here at Stratford Racecourse we are committed to minimising risks, dealing quickly and humanely with injuries, and maintaining the highest possible quality of life for the animals in our care. At every meeting we have two specially qualified Equine Vets appointed to look after the welfare of all horses in action There is also a British Horseracing Authority Vet in attendance. During the race two vets follow the action from the centre of the course and can attend to a horse in the same response time as the Paramedic Teams responsible for treating the injured jockeys. It is standard policy that in the event of a horse requiring veterinary treatment whilst on site, screens will be erected round the horse It is designed to afford the vet and the patient some privacy Please do not assume the worst.
In the event of an emergency all persons on the racecourse will be alerted by the following message over the public address system. This is an emergency announcement. Police and Racecourse Officials will assist and direct you. Please do not go to any Car Park until you are cleared to do so, because you may hamper the movement of emergency vehicles The message will then be repeated

The Management reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone and to remove any person from the Course without assigning a reason for so doing and do not accept responsibility for loss or damage to persons or their property.
Please help us to keep Stratford clean and tidy by using the litter bins in all enclosures.

BETTING FORECAST:
6-4 Gavin (GB), 9-4 Chillhi (IRE), 11-2 Mount Sinai (IRE), 8-1 Laser Focus (IRE), 16-1 Jo’s Rainbow (IRE) RACE SUMMARY:
GAVIN arrives in good form having proved less headstrong than usual when runner-up at Cartmel 2 weeks ago and should again be suited by a sharp track. He can capitalise on a drop into selling handicap company, with fellow front-runner Chillhi the obvious danger for a yard who have a respectable record in this sort of contest. Of the rest, Mount Sinai has the form to be competitive if back on song and could be the one to pick up the pieces if the pace is overly strong.

“Racing’s top priority is the safety and welfare of horse and rider” Like most sports racing carries risks, however, we work to make sure that no death or injury occurs, which could have been prevented.
Here at Stratford Racecourse we are committed to minimising risks, dealing quickly and humanely with injuries, and maintaining the highest possible quality of life for the animals in our care At every meeting we have two specially qualified Equine Vets appointed to look after the welfare of all horses in action There is also a British Horseracing Authority Vet in attendance.
During the race two vets follow the action from the centre of the course and can attend to a horse in the same response time as the Paramedic Teams responsible for treating the injured jockeys.
It is standard policy that in the event of a horse requiring veterinary treatment whilst on site, screens will be erected round the horse It is designed to afford the vet and the patient some privacy. Please do not assume the worst.
A very much missed husband to Marian, father, grampy and friend to many, who was sadly taken from us in February 2014.
Andy spent many happy hours working as a Jockeys Valet and enjoyed racing.
As a tribute to keep his memory alive, his family and friends have rallied round to sponsor this race and many are here today to remember him with much love and affection and enjoy a day at the races.
