A very warm welcome to the Rowley Mile for the third and final day of the Cambridgeshire Meeting, one of the highlights of our racing calendar.
Today’s racing is headlined by three major contests: the Cheveley Park Stakes, The Middle Park Stakes and the Royal Lodge Stakes, all very kindly sponsored by Tattersalls, Europe’s leading bloodstock Auctioneers. Horses from these races often go on to have very big careers, such as last year’s winners: Lake Victoria, Shadow of Light and Wimbledon Hawkeye.
We are delighted to thank all our sponsors: Tattersalls, the European Breeders Fund, Ambassador Cruises, and Blandford Bloodstock, whose generous support makes this prestigious day possible We would also like to thank Al Basti Equiworld, Dubai, for their ongoing sponsorship of our Owners’ and Trainers’ facility.
While you enjoy the thrill of world-class racing, make your way down to the Boulevard Lawn for a taste of Oktoberfest! Soak up the festive atmosphere with traditional food, drinks, and entertainment - featuring today’s live performance by the fantastic 10-piece band Hosenbrass
We send our best wishes to all owners, trainers, and jockeys competing on this showcase day of racing and hope you enjoy a fantastic conclusion to the Cambridgeshire Meeting
Best wishes,
Sophie Able

RACING
As a leading distributor of horse feed, bedding and supplements in the greater GCC area, I am once again immensely proud to support the Jockey Club at Newmarket Racecourses for the 2025 season. Newmarket is credited as being where thoroughbred racing first started which is why so many from every corner of the world Mile Rowley The appreciate and assemble and The July Course.
As ever, the enthusiasm of Sophie Able and her team at Newmarket translates into a top class service for Owners, Trainers, Jockeys and Stable Staff and for that we are deeply grateful.
I would like to wish all those visiting Newmarket throughout the 2025 season, the very best of luck.
Have a wonderful day at the races today.

Each year, promising Thoroughbreds begin their quest on the Road to the Kentucky Derby–a series of designated races at tracks across the United States and around the world. The Euro/Mideast Road to the Kentucky Derby is a stand-alone series, with two invitations to compete in the Kentucky Derby extended with preference to the horses with the most points from these races to join the field for the 152nd Kentucky Derby on Saturday, 2 May, 2026.

Aidan O’Brien has tasted success in this race several times in the past and ACTION could be another Royal Lodge winner for the yard It’s admittedly a sizeable step up for the Frankel colt, who has only contested maidens so far, but he looks very promising indeed. Stablemate Daytona was better than he was able to show in France and is feared most, albeit only marginally as Bow Echo, Pacific Avenue and Ancient Egypt (in order of preference) are all open to improvement. Humidity also has claims. TIMEFORM PREDICTION: 1.ACTION

A good chance this will go to a newcomer, with ACT OF KINDNESS topping the shortlist. Racegoers must abide by any regulations including the observance of designated non-drinking areas
At Newmarket Racecourses we believe racing should be enjoyed by anyone and everyone. And one thing is certainly true, the more relaxed and comfortable we feel, the more likely we are to have a great time. So that’s why we’ve created one very simple piece of guidance, to come “dressed to feel your best”.
We’re all unique, and no more so than in our sense of style and comfort. For some, wearing a nice sweatshirt, pair of jeans and clean trainers is what makes them feel confident and at-ease. For others, they might prefer to turn heads with a sharp suit or glamorous dress and high heels, particularly for one of our big race meetings But whatever your tastes, the most important thing when choosing your outfit is, of course, comfort and confidence. So wear what feels right for you and will keep you feeling your best from start to finish, whatever the weather. Here’s some other useful tips and advice for making sure your time with us is as memorable as possible.
Fancy dress can often add colour and fun to our racedays, but please avoid inappropriate or offensive outfits, as anything deemed vulgar or derogatory may be refused entry.
We love other sports as much as anyone, but showing allegiance to a favourite club can sometimes appear antagonistic So, to keep things simple, please refrain from wearing team kits when attending one of our racedays.
Only individuals in possession of a valid betting badge and occupying an authorised pitch are entitled to lay bets in the course of their business. Any individuals found contravening these conditions will be evicted. Members of the public may not use two-way radios, scanning receivers etc, for any purpose at the racecourse.
EMERGENCY NOTICE
In an event of an emergency please be guided by our security stewards and by messages you will see and hear around the racecourse We would advise that you keep your personal belongings with you at all times. In the event of an evacuation please do as requested by Newmarket Racecourses Management and security staff They will direct you to a safe place. Do not attempt to regain access to buildings

RACEHORSE & JOCKEY WELFARE
The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards In addition Newmarket Racecourses employs a minimum of three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital
