Waynesburg women’s soccer boasts five on United Soccer Coaches all-region teams

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Dec. 2) – The United Soccer Coaches released their annual all-region women’s soccer teams on Tuesday. After putting together arguably the greatest season in program history, Waynesburg University earned two first-team, two second-team and one third-team selection to the NCAA Division III Region VII squads.

Junior Julz Mohrbacher (Freedom, Pa. / Freedom) became a two-time honoree after earning firstteam laurels. She finished the 2025 season ranked first in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) in goals (17) and total points (41) on her way to first-team all-conference accolades. She was twice honored as a PAC Offensive Player of the Week.

Mohrbacher was lauded as a fourth-team pick in 2024.

Sophomore Abby Ngugi (Jefferson Hills, Pa. / Thomas Jefferson) was Waynesburg’s other firstteam selection and anchored a defense that allowed a PAC-best 0.59 goals per game. Ngugi was named a first-team All-PAC pick and was honored as a PAC Goalkeeper / Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 27.

The Jackets were represented on the Region VII second team by junior goalkeeper Lex Greenlief (Chester, W.Va. / Oak Glen) and senior midfielder Reagan Mittendorf (Bluffton, Ohio / Bluffton).

Greenlief put together the finest statistical season in Waynesburg history by going 16-3-2 with a 0.65 goals against average. She boasted a .893 save percentage and logged 11 shutouts on her way to first-team All-PAC status. She was also named a PAC Goalkeeper / Defensive Player of the Week and was the MVP of Waynesburg’s 1-0 win over Keene State in the ECAC title game after piling up a season-high 14 saves.

Greenlief set new team records for save percentage, goals-against average, wins and shutouts in a season.

Mittendorf put together a fine farewell season in Orange and Black. She finished 2025 ranked sixth in the PAC in goals (9), second in assists (9), first in game-winning goals (5) and sixth in total points (27). That work earned a spot on the All-PAC first team.

Junior defender Waverly Lorne (New Providence, N.J. / Governor Livingston), another piece of the Jackets’ standout defense, earned third-team praise after being a first-team All-PAC pick. She also contributed offensively with four assists.

Waynesburg’s Zachary Johnson named all-region by United Soccer Coaches

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Dec. 2) – The United Soccer Coaches released their annual all-region men’s soccer teams on Tuesday. Waynesburg junior forward Zachary Johnson (Raceland, Ky. / Saint Joseph Central Catholic) represented the Yellow Jackets as a fourth-team pick out of Region VII

Johnson earned the accolade after finishing third in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) in goals (12) and second in total points per game (1.59). He was named first-team All-PAC for a second time in three years on Nov. 12.

Health and Exercise Science

Alyssa Weaver, a senior in Health and Exercise Science major with a minor in Psychology, has transformed her passion for serving children with disabilities into a creative and impactful internship project. After recognizing the developmental challenges linked to excessive media use and the need for affordable at-home resources, Alyssa developed a series of 3–4-minute Occupational Therapy activity videos that children can access on their tablets anywhere. Featuring recurring, kid-friendly characters, her videos turn screen time into purposeful engagement building foundational skills, supporting healthy routines, and offering families an accessible tool to encourage their child’s growth.
