New KM Christmas tradition begins Saturday

By Loretta Cozart

This Christmas, the City of Kings Mountain partners with Santa and his elves to bring some North Pole magic to downtown! The Home for Christmas Parade, Saturday, December 1 at 3:00 p.m., will feature new floats, large parade balloons, dinosaurs, costumed characters, marching bands, and the grand arrival of Santa Claus himself! Immediately after the parade, bring your family to Patriots Park for the Winter Wonderland Festival, featuring food trucks, inflatable attractions, live performances, and good Christmas fun. The Grinch has plans to steal Christmas, starting in Patriots Park at 5:30 p.m. Join him and his dog, Max,

as they bring Dr. Seuss' "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" to life in their unique way. Make sure to stick around for photos and silliness during their exclusive Meet-and-Greet. Kings Mountain is known for its synchronized downtown light show orchestrated to radio broadcasted music. Join Mayor Scott Neisler at 6 p.m. when the City flips the switch and turns downtown into a Winter Wonderland. At 6:30 p.m., Mayor Neisler reads the classic

story "The Night Before Christmas" at the Gazebo before passing the spotlight over to Santa for his arrival atop a blazing red fire engine! Santa will meet with children of all ages, listening to Christmas wishes and posing for free photos on the Gazebo stage. For the first time, you and your loved ones can take part in this new Christmas tradition! Kings Mountain's Downtown Christmas Celebration will feature an interactive walkthrough of Santa's Workshop, Victo-
