If a car or truck is ailing, East Gaston graduating senior Evan Summerlin has a talent for making it well again. In fact, he's so adept at automotive analysis and wrench turning that he's set a course for that line of work as a career. South Point High graduating senior Victor Hernandez is a man’s man who has overcome odds that would have destroyed a lesser person, risen above circumstance, and is soaring to great accomplishments now and in the future. Many years of Victor’s past life have been marked by turmoil and heartache, but with the same tenacity he showed on the football field as an outstanding member of the Red Raiders, he has emerged, well, Victorious. Hernandez's life story is long and complex- especially for an 18-year-old.

Mt. Island Charter School graduating senior Allison McClure has an adventurous spirit and has gone as far away as Spain to learn about new things. McClure, the daughter of Scott and Diane McClure of Charlotte, got her first taste of other nations when she and her family hosted an exchange student. “In my sophomore year a student named Sophia Wesenburg from German stayed with us,” McClure said. “The experience taught me to have a more open mind
