2020 Virtual Luncheon - Friday, October 9, 2020 17 th Annual Fundraiser Coalition to Reduce Recidivism in conjunction with Coalition Legal LLC. Dear Potential Sponsor, Our theme: "At last……. I. Can. Breathe." describes how many offenders feel after a successful transition from offender to citizen.

But rebuilding a life after prison is difficult. Employability, housing, and health care are some of the barriers that keep individuals from re-entering society successfully.

For 17 years, the Coalition to Reduce Recidivism, a 501(c)3 non-profit, has challenged these obstacles by equipping offenders with resources needed to get them on their feet and stay out of prison. Re-entry services have focused on job training and gainful employment, educational programming, and civic empowerment. Since 2005, 1,956 repatriates have obtained employment.

The Coalition continues to help men and women returning to Lake County from Illinois prisons.

Coalition Legal, LLC helps individuals expunge and seal their criminal records. This allows them to rebuild their lives, free of the burden that comes with a criminal background.

As you know, the COVID-19 crises have brought several challenges to our world, including how we work and live. In following with social distancing and other guidelines to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, the Coalition is replacing its annual luncheon with an online fundraiser. Yes, we are going VIRTUAL! The need to connect offenders with work, family, and society continue, especially now as Illinois unemployment figures stand in the double digits.

The Coalition and Coalition Legal will host its 17th Annual Fundraiser luncheon on Friday, October 9, 2020. We are proud to report the Coalition’s National recognition of the Liberty Bell Award in May 2009, garnering national attention.
