DENTAL HYGIENE – NEW CHALLENGES The «International Symposium on Dental Hygiene» is held every three years and is aimed at dental hygienists and dental professionals.

The 2016 ISDH will be held in Basel, Switzerland. Swiss Dental Hygienists is proud and delighted to be organising this international event in cooperation with the IFDH (International Federation of Dental Hygiene).

Some 2 000 participants from all over the world are expected to attend the symposium in Basel. Prior to the ISDH, the IFDH «House of Delegates» will meet in lucerne from 20 to 22 June 2016.

The big trade exhibition is naturally a key feature of the ISDH. Apart from the trade exhibition, further sponsorship options are also available.

AIR Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg Airport is a 15 minutes’ drive from Messe Basel.

There are frequent trains between Basel SBB station and Zurich taking less than an hour with direct service to and from Zurich Airport.

GENERAL INFORMATION CURREnCy All official conference prices are indicated and charged in Swiss francs (CHF). The official currency in Switzerland is the Swiss franc (CHF). All major credit cards are accepted at most hotels, restaurants and shops.

ExCHAngE AnD BAnKS Banks are open from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday. All banks are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and on public holidays. There are plenty of currency exchange offices and banks at which to change your money into Swiss francs (CHF), fees will apply.

To withdraw money, look for a cash point that displays the Visa, Mastercard or Maestro symbol. When withdrawing money from a non-Swiss account fees will apply. Contact your bank for details before travelling.

PASSPoRT AnD VISA Citizens of the EU and EFTA do not need a visa to enter Switzerland. As visa regulations are subject to change, it is, however, recommended to check at https://www.eda.admin.ch/eda/en/home/einreise-aufenthalt-schweiz/ visabestimmungen-visumantragsformular.html or with your local Swiss embassy before leaving home. As the application process for visas may be time-consuming, it is recommended to apply as early as possible.

DENTAL HYGIENE – NEW CHALLENGES Das «International Symposium on Dental Hygiene» wird alle 3 Jahre durchgeführt und ist an Dentalhygienikerinnen und weitere medizinische Fachpersonen gerichtet. Das ISDH 2016 findet in Basel in der Schweiz statt. Swiss Dental Hygienists ist stolz, diesen internationalen Event in Zusammenarbeit mit dem IFDH (International Federation of Dental Hygiene) organisieren zu dürfen.

Es werden gegen 2 000 Dentalhygienikerinnen aus der ganzen Welt erwartet, die an diesem Symposium in Basel teilnehmen. Vor dem ISDH findet in luzern das «House of Delegates» des IFDH vom 20. bis 22. Juni 2016 statt.
