W A L L A A L R A D H I My passion for the arts drove me to always look for ways to challenge myself and create something new thus, I started to work on personal projects that I post on social media which successfully expanded throughout the years. This lead me to study architecture and utilize my creativity to express and visualize the world around me. Architecture allowed me to see the world from a different perspective. It has motivated me to design sustainable environments that can positively impact its users and improve their MAGGIES DUNDEE SKETCHED BY AUTHOR 2019 2022 Architectural Engineering First Class Honours Salford University E D U C A T I O N 2018 2019 Academic writing and business courses NCG College Manchester Science and engineering foundation year Salford university. 2018 2016 2018 High school department of environment science Alhussan international school 2021 6 weeks 2022 3 weeks Interior design | Niswa community Project via zoom, designing a studio space located in the US. The 6th floor area is limited due to the historic queen roof truss The roof is constructed of timber which is supported by the columns visible from the center of the 5th floor area. The focus, in this case, is to understand the truss structure and what to include in this limited space as a heritage building and by keeping this important element I thought about using this space as a small artist library. However, the existing roof windows would give nice natural lighting and natural ventilation inside this small space

The main focus on the 5th floor is to provide modern gallery space, communal area, and workshop area by considering the top two floors as a single level. The expressed queen truss with the generous floor to ceiling height will allow a different feel to the space. However, the rendered image shows the interior elements I considered inside of each space by providing an open space but, also some separation and easy connection.

In this module, we were asked to design a Research Centre for post Covid 19 Rehabilitation comprising clinical and rehab facilities for those who are recovering from the illness and willing to participate in clinical and behavioral research programs. At the start, I had to answer some of the initial questions I held for the new building such as: How the research center can be transformed from a serious figure to a new, open, welcoming environment, and attractive space for the patients, and how can it highlight the relationship with the basic brick surrounding buildings within the context, thus creating a dramatic effect?

Traditionally, the clinical zone is a carrier of medical research laps spaces, a building type with a particularly clear functional orientation. However, in response to the brief, the clients wanted it to consider a rehabilitation area where residents can embody the spirit of openness of urban space, by providing a comfortable public private space. while creating a low carbon and green quality environment Location: Salford Quays

The roof design took several stages till I reached out to the final design shape and that was achieved by creating a few physical models iterations Moreover, after understanding the scale of the roof shape and its placement. I had to design the structure of it and think of the material that it will be used reflecting on the precedents that I have chosen

The proposed perspective structure section shows the exposed timber structure inside of the building cantilevers towards the canal. However, the shape of the structure created a unique view inside of the connection bridge which gives a sense of attraction and seriousness.

The concept response is based on a linear design and on a folded plate geometric bridge roof connection, signifying that the geometric flued bridge connection cantilevers out towards the canal and emerges with the flow of the water. In addition, another design intention was to break the seriousness of the original linear building shape and to have a strong feature in the building, as well as to improve the connection of both building spaces by keeping the public character of the site context as a shared space for the public.

The building structure material chosen is the CLT timber frame design which it’s an environmentally friendly material as it acts as a carbon skin because it absorbs carbon dioxide more than it uses, also it’s known as a lightweight structure, considered a fire safety and a cost effective material. The use of the green roof contributes to thermal comfort in which it absorbs heat and it manages stormwater as sustainable urban drainage Considering the quality of the lighting indoor, sky roof windows and the elevation windows exterior skin are double glazed which could manage a warmer internal temperature and also reduce the outdoor noise

The pavilion has also been designed with multiple functions such as an exhibition space to be displayed for the artists and an inspiring sculpture in the building Moreover, the compilation of the design has a simple Innovative mechanism, but also sustainable materials. softwares used in this project 翔
