intro LET US SEEK HIGHER THINGS.

In this module, we were asked to design a physical model of a pavilion structure as a group work, located at the university campus, after lots of Iterations I and my colleagues have settled down on placing the Pavilion at the atrium of Adelphi with a particular focus on having It as a mobile form that can accommodate both Indoors and outdoors, the pavilion also been designed with multiple functions such as an exhibition space to be displayed for the artist's students at the Adelphi. Moreover, the compilation of the design has a simple Innovative mechanism, sustainable materials, and delivers multiple functions.

Playing Fields

The white dotted line provided shows the area of the framework Development. The development consists of a variety of different ranges such as existing buildings, and educational, cultural, and residential use. The framework also covers the substantial areas of green spaces such as peel park and River Irwell. Therefore in this brief, the location site was open around the uni campus either indoors or outdoors, and that lead me and my colleagues to choose four different site locations and consider the most acceptable one to display the pavilion in.

While taking the consideration of the heritage aspects and its reach history peel park was one of our first places to consider. this lead us to think about the easy access of peel park in terms of displaying the pavilion in it but also considering the public, not just the students, after discussing the advantages and disadvantages of the area it appeared that peel park would limit the use of the pavilion during the night and that might cause some issues.

SU back entrance

Second location The second location was the back entrance of the home union where it's located next to the student accommodations, this will attract a big number of students and it will also be acceptable to use during the night especially because the outdoor area is active during festival days and ever around the year,

SU

One concern that caused a problem is that this area can be a bit limited to use during the summer break also the open area delivers a huge amount of sunlight which can cause shading issues.

Third location Peel Park

New Adelphi

tThe third option was also outdoors which is the massive greenery area next to the library, Chapman building, and the new adelphy. the location is perfect especially because it's at the center of the campus but there will be some issues regarding the weather condition and the need for cleaning the year-round.

Activities that can be accommodated by "Pavilion" 1- a place to rest 2-Recreations for students and public 3- outdoor/ indoor 5- a gathering place 6- multipurpose space 7- Art & learning 8- getting inspired

focus area users groups: 1- School & Uni students 2- Local office workers 3- Local community

At the end after lots of negotiations and brainstorming with the collages we thought about having the pavilion focused to target the art students where it can be used as multipurpose and can benefit the users. this can be achieved by placing the atrium at the atrium of the Adelphi where there is access to natural sunlight, it can be remote ad even played outdoors during nice weather and it can also deliver a creative communal area.

the drawing provided on the bottom shows the front view of the pavilion, however, the top drawing shows the top view of the pavilion providing a structural strategy of the connections. the yellow arrow provides information on the direction tension cable the dotted lines provide the bending moment forces and the red arrow provides the compression forces of the frame.

Second precedent we want to generate an icon, an attractive exhibit that seeks to stir curiosity and catch the attention of the city. The construction is also simple; the panels are joined with hinges that permit rotation.

THE COLOR SCHEME.

After confirming the colours of the pavilion it was import for us to understand the placement of the colours on the pavilion also by considering the final materials that been inspired from some of the precedent provided.
