It is your support of the Chamber that makes all this possible and helps make Redmond the special place we all know and love.

Leadership Redmond

August also means we are busy with enrollment for Leadership Redmond Class of 2026. Applications are being accepted until Friday, September 5 and I encourage anyone who is interested, to enroll as soon as possible. The Leadership Redmond program introduces participants to some of the many dynamic leaders of the community that helps make Redmond run smoothly and effectively. We work hard to ensure the Leadership Redmond program is fun, educational and respects your personal time. Leadership is nine full days, from 8am-5pm, held on the third Thursday of each month, starting in September and running through May.

This successful program is worth the commitment. Graduates of the program have become involved in all aspects of leadership throughout the community. In fact, several of Redmond’s current City Counselors are Leadership Redmond graduates. We have graduates active in many parts of the community, from service clubs, various commissions, the Redmond Area Parks and Recreation Department Board, Redmond Economic Development Inc., the Airport Committee, Redmond School Board, Redmond Fire and Rescue Board and many more.

The Leadership Redmond program is a partnership between the Redmond Executive Association and the Redmond Chamber of Commerce & CVB. This year will be our 20th year putting on the program. The support of our many generous day sponsors and scholarship providers is what makes the program possible. We would not be able to offer this rewarding program without their support. Currently, we need both Day

Sponsors and Scholarship support and welcome contributions at any level. If you would like to support, or participate in the Leadership Redmond program, feel free to go on line to www. visitredmondoregon.com/chamber-ofcommerce/resources/, or call me at 541923-5191.

Reach Business Leaders Directly in their Inbox

When it comes to promoting your business in Redmond, you want strategies that deliver results without draining your marketing budget. That’s why the Redmond Chamber of Commerce’s email advertising program stands out as a smart, cost-effective way to reach the people who matter most—local business owners, professionals, and community decisionmakers.

The Chamber’s Weekly Update email is sent every Monday morning to over 1,400 engaged subscribers, each of whom has a vested interest in Redmond’s business community. This isn’t a generic list—these are business leaders who open, read, and act on what they see. With an average open rate of 46.5% and a click-through rate of 7.2%, the Weekly Update far exceeds industry standards, where typical open rates hover between 20–25% and click rates average just 2–3%. Those numbers alone show that your advertising message

is much more likely to be seen and acted upon when placed in the Chamber’s email.

Unlike social media feeds where your ad competes with countless posts and distractions, or print ads that are easy to overlook, email offers a direct line into your audience’s inboxes. Readers choose to subscribe to the Chamber’s updates, which means they are already interested in what’s happening in Redmond and are more likely to pay attention to your message. It’s targeted, permission-based marketing at its best.

Another key advantage is the exclusivity of advertising placements. Each Weekly Update offers just three ad options— one Sponsored Content placement, one Premium Top Banner Ad, and one Lower Banner Ad. With only one advertiser featured per placement per week, your business won’t get lost in a sea of competing ads. Instead, you’ll stand out, making your message more impactful.

Sponsored Content is particularly effective for businesses looking to tell a story, share an offer, or highlight an event. With a 600x400 image, 100 words of custom messaging, and a clickable link, it’s an opportunity to engage readers with both visuals and content. Premium Top Banner Ads ensure your business is the first thing readers see when they open the email, maximizing brand recognition. Meanwhile, Lower Banner Ads offer an affordable way to get your message in front of a local audience, perfect for businesses looking for budget-friendly exposure.

Beyond these placements, the value of Chamber email advertising lies in its community credibility. By advertising through the Chamber, you signal that your business is invested in Redmond and committed to supporting the local economy. That builds trust, strengthens your reputation, and encourages readers to choose your services over out-of-town competitors.

Finally, the Chamber’s email ads are affordable, starting as low as $25 per week for a Lower Banner Ad, making this opportunity accessible to small businesses and startups as well as established companies. With a required threeweek commitment, advertisers benefit from consistent exposure, helping build familiarity and drive conversions.

In a time when every marketing dollar counts, the Redmond Chamber’s email advertising program offers a proven, targeted, and cost-effective way to connect directly with the local business community and get measurable results.

Local Roots, Lasting Growth: 10 Proven Marketing Ideas for Redmond’s Small Businesses

At the Redmond Chamber, we often say: success starts right here at home. For many small and mid-sized businesses, national recognition is great—but it’s your local neighbors, customers, and fellow businesses who will fuel your long-term growth.

Why focus locally? Because 76% of people who search for a product or service on their phone visit a nearby business the same day. That means your next customer might be walking down 6th Street or scrolling Instagram just a few blocks away.

To help you connect with your local audience and maximize impact, we’ve outlined 10 highly actionable strategies you can implement—whether you're a family-run café, professional service provider, or retail shop on the rise.

1. Understand the Redmond Customer

Successful businesses here know their people. What does your average customer value— convenience, sustainability, budget, or luxury? Use in-person conversations, social media polls, and review sites to learn more. Platforms like Google Analytics and your POS data can reveal hidden patterns in behavior.

Tailor your message to your specific customer base. If you're a bakery, highlight locally sourced ingredients. If you're a fitness studio, promote your role in the community’s wellness journey.

2. Boost Your Local Online Presence

When someone types “best plumber in Redmond” or “coffee near me,” you want to be front and center. Start by fully updating your Google Business Profile. Add photos, hours, services, and regular updates.

Then list your business in directories like Yelp, Nextdoor, and even local Facebook groups. Keep your business name, address, and phone number consistent across platforms. Finally, add Redmond-specific keywords to your website (“near Sam Johnson Park” or “downtown Redmond”) to improve visibility.

3. Team Up with Neighboring Businesses

You’re not alone in this—Redmond is full of entrepreneurial energy. Collaborate with nearby businesses to expand your audience. For example, a coffee shop can partner with a bookstore for “Read & Roast” deals, or a salon could cross-promote with a boutique for a “Style & Shop” event.

Even better? Joint efforts like these often get picked up by local media and get more buzz on social media.

4. Show Up for the Community

Events are where Redmond comes together—and where your brand can make an impact. Set up a table at Music on the Green, sponsor a parade float, or donate prizes to the Holiday Village Market raffle.

Every time you engage with the community, you're building brand loyalty. Tag Redmond Chamber and local event pages on social media, and use hashtags like #RedmondEvents or #SupportLocalRedmond to expand your reach.

5. Partner with Local Creators

You don’t need a big influencer to make a splash. Micro-creators right here in Redmond (think 1,000–10,000 followers) often have loyal audiences and are seen as trusted voices.

Offer them a free product, a service trial, or behind-the-scenes access. Let them share your story in their own voice—it builds trust and credibility with a local twist.

6. Post with a Local Perspective

Use your social platforms to celebrate the community. Share behind-the-scenes content, customer stories, or shoutouts to other local businesses. Talk about Redmond-specific events and tag your location.

On Instagram, use Reels or Stories to keep things fresh. On Facebook, join neighborhood groups. On LinkedIn, share business milestones or Chamber events. Hashtags like #RedmondChamber, #ShopRedmond, or #RedmondOR help you get discovered.

7. Offer Local-Only Deals

Create special promotions just for Redmond residents. Think “Show your 97756 ID and save 10%,” or “Buy One, Get One for locals this weekend only.”

Loyalty programs work too—use a digital punch card or offer a referral bonus to keep customers coming back. These small incentives can drive repeat visits and positive word-of-mouth.

8. Don’t Overlook Print & Mail

Yes, digital is powerful—but traditional media still works. Flyers on community bulletin boards, ads in local publications like Cascade Business News, or postcards promoting events can be costeffective ways to stay top-of-mind.

Want to reach families? Consider direct mail around school events or holidays. It can be a strong supplement to your online presence.

9. Build a Strong Email List

Email remains one of the highest ROI channels. Collect emails at checkout, on your website, and at events like Coffee Clatter or After Hours. Then send targeted messages with special offers, behind-the-scenes updates, or member-only deals.

Keep it relevant and valuable. A quick “Weekend Picks” newsletter or local highlight can go a long way in staying connected.

10. Track, Learn, Improve

What worked? What didn’t? Use tools like Google Analytics, social insights, or even good old customer feedback to measure impact.

Maybe your last Instagram post brought in 20 new customers. Or your print ad flopped but sparked some useful conversations. Keep tweaking your approach until you find the right formula.

The Bottom Line for Redmond Businesses

Local matters. Your strongest customers are likely right here in Central Oregon.

Consistency counts. Keep your branding aligned across online and offline touchpoints.

Partnerships pay off. The more connected you are with others, the more exposure you gain.

Engagement drives loyalty. The more people see your name, the more likely they are to support you.

Need help implementing any of these strategies? Reach out to the Redmond Chamber team. We’re here to help you grow—with resources, networking, and visibility built just for you.

the ranch NEWS FROM Crooked River Ranch A Small-Town Independence Day Celebration 2025

A 4th of July celebration in Crooked River Ranch has everything a small country community would ever want. Parade, music, food, vendors. Enough entertainment for the whole family. It is a great event to come together to celebrate our country’s Independence. This year Crooked River Ranch wanted to show how thankful we were to the “Fire Fighters and First Responders’ who fought long and hard for the protection of our community from the recent Alder fire that came so close to some of our homes. Without them we very well could have lost some structures in our community. Lined up along the parade route and on some participant’s floats in the parade, were several signs thanking our local Fire Fighters and those departments that traveled from all over the state to help us. We Appreciate You All!

Our weekend began Friday, July 4th from 6-10pm with a Barn Dance in Mac Park. There was Grammy’s Food Cart with delicious loaded baked potatoes, and Black Goat Winery for the adult beverages. Matt Martin and the 45’s were the featured country band and they kept everyone dancing from the first to the last song of the night. Saturday morning started at 10am with a red, white, and blue patriotic parade. The theme was ‘An American Blast’ and that’s exactly what we did …. had a blast! There were horses, jeeps, a kangaroo, Clydesdales pulling a wagon, military, commercial, ATVs, classic cars and much more. Longtime resident and former employee Mike Knoke was our honored Grand Marshal. There isn’t anything flashy or big city about this old-fashioned country celebration and that’s just what we cherish about it. Crooked River Ranch Independence Day Celebration. Come join us next July 2026 and you’ll discover the feeling of a small country community, where nobody is a stranger.
