Making a Stepper statement
Stepper Stepper UK’s new STS-40212 frame (pictured second from right) was created via a range of technologies and innovations including injection moulding, intense metal pressing, multiple electroplating processes and skilled hand assembly.
“Sophisticated looks that echo the current trend for layered materials give added 3D perspective and texture interest – where shape and substance replace pattern for visual interest,” said Peter Reeve, Stepper UK managing director. The frame’s TX5 rims are constructed
using two separate moulds to create independent eye shapes, held in place around a stainless steel framework. The colour combinations available are matt rose/gold, matt blue/gunmetal, and matt lime/gunmetal. “A refined and truly special piece of fashion eyewear,” Peter added.
Hoya Lens UK Hoya has launched a new resource to help eyecare professionals engage with key stage two children about eye health. The ‘Eye care we care’ scheme will provide accredited eyecare practitioners with a short interactive presentation, guidance and tips on how to approach schools, and additional learning materials. As part of the scheme, Hoya has partnered with Jean Kelly, optometrist and owner of Eglinton Eyecare, Northern Ireland, to include her Your Eyes interactive workbook. The workbook is aimed at children aged seven to nine years, and
eye conditions – and the cover can be personalised to the practice.
New scheme for school children
follows the story of three bears. It covers the importance of eye exams, UV protection, what happens in an eye exam, and common
“Hoya has always been passionate about eyecare and by raising the importance of eye health in schools, we aim to support a lifetime of awareness for teachers, parents and guardians and ultimately the children of the future,” said Andy Sanders, Hoya Lens UK professional services director.
