Firstly, I would like to thank you for the support you have given NEG and our members. It is appreciated and goes along way to making the group what it is today.
Since being established in 1979, NEG has seen many changes to the optical market. We have gone through numerous recessions, the reduction of NHS support , the rise in the multiple and of course Covid. But today there is greater pressure on independent practices than there has ever been. We therefore strongly believe, that as an industry we need to join together to support the truly independent practices to not only ensure their survival but their success.
For this reason, the 2026 NEG Building for Success conference will be open to all independent practices and we invite you to join us to show them that the future is brighter together.

The event: This year’s NEG Building for Success members’ conference, titled “The Future is Brighter Together”, is being held over two days, with the exhibition being held on both days. This year’s event will have several firsts.
The first time we have used this dramatic and exciting venue, St Georges Park, which is where all the English football teams are based.
The first time for multi-track CPD workshops, run on both mornings and available for sponsorship.
First time inviting non-NEG members to join us, to get to know us and see the support for truly independent practices.
The very first NEG awards, which will be presented at the evening gala dinner on Sunday evening.
Our aim is to offer a bigger, bolder, more inclusive event, which will attract business owners from across the country, while offering more time with sponsors. All at exceptionally great prices for sponsors and delegates alike.

Sponsorship: There are various levels of event sponsorship and additional sponsorship opportunities, all of which offer something different, but with impact. In total there will be 30 exhibition spaces, so you will need to book quickly to guarantee your place.
Sunday evening: Delegates and exhibitors are all welcome to the Sunday evening gala dinner, which in addition to a three course meal and entertainment, will see us present the first ever NEG awards
Awards: Unlike many other awards, we are keeping it very simple by just presenting two awards. The Practice of the year and the Supplier of the year. Plus nominees won’t be putting themselves forward for the award, instead suppliers will nominate practices and practices will nominate suppliers for the awards. The awards will be judged by a mixed panel of suppliers and practices
