Acros s t he ce nturie s, all t he great p ow ers of E uro pe have fo ug ht fo r, wo n & l ost a gai n d omi natio n o ver t he te rrit ory t hat no w g oes b y the name of Be lgi um. In its limelight stands Brussels, universally known as "The Capital of Europe" - a wonderful old-world metropolis that has skipped merrily into the 20th century wearing her treasured traditions as a glittering wrap. The histroy of Brussels dates back to 979 C.E, when a small castle was built near the Senne. The small town became in the 12th century an important stop on the commercial road from Bruges to Cologne. The name Brussels comes from Bruocsella, Brucsella or Broekzele, which means "marsh (bruoc, bruc or broek) home (sella or zele)" or "home in the marsh". "Broekzele" was spelled "Bruxelles" in French. Later on, the 'x' changed to an 's', giving rise to the current Dutch pronounciation and spelling. Antwerp, cultural pearl of the North, owes its life to the river Scheldt, its soul to the artist Rubens, and its name to a giant of ancient days called Druon Antigoon. Antwerp is an open-minded city with flair. Bruges (or alternatively Ghent), Venice of the North. Everyday life in Medieval Europe is as vivide as images on today's TV screen when you walk the streets of Bruges (or Ghent) - medeval Europe preserved! Far in the north, the Belgian Sea “North Sea” this is were the Belgians spend their weekend, whether rain or shine, the sea has a particular attraction: Knokke an exclusive resort, flaneries and cuisse-tax rallyes, window-shopping and golfing, or Ostende and Zeebruges seeing a far the ferries thrive, De Panne and Vuurne close to France, medieval cities in the flat land that already Jacques Brel described in his famous songs … The Belgian Ardennes are the green lung of Belgium, situated south east from Brussels, easily to be reached in less than one hour coach drive. This region has much to offer ... over 100 castles & fortresses, waterfalls & grottos, lush forests & pitturesque villages ... this peace is perturbed when arriving at the SpaFrancorchamps F1 race track, or visiting Liège - the city of Tchantchès, the little "beer man" who invites you to a tasting of some 400 Belgian speciality beers!

You are guided by this postcard and the contained itinerary, as well as famous comic figures who will meet and greet you along the way . Where It all starts... Normally, we recommend to do a first briefing immediately after your arrival. We suggest to build quickly 10 groups of 10 people by our operation chiefs. Every group is given a different character according to their principal group characteristic. These characters will take you around to resolve the given enigmas and, in case you cannot solve them on your own, you can use a joker. Let’s have a look on possible characteristics : two intellectual persons two intuitive persons two observative persons two considerate persons two adventurors

(an exemplary page of the rallye book) LE S AB LO N Captain Haddock has finally given you, after some swear-words and resistance, the order of your mission. In fact, do you remember the 5 favorite swear-words (en krachtige scheldwoorden – schatje, ga maar!) of Captain Haddock? The right number of right swear-words will be your “starting capital”. In this game you have to collect as much winning points as possible and to manage the timing. So we have given you a “rallye book” with white pages in it and a city map of the city centre. The instructions with which you will pass the various stations is strictly to respect ! . Ah ja ! en dan nog … Zeer belangrijk … We expect you in between 5.30 and 6pm in an establishment of the city whose name corresponds to the following description : « any of several large, stately aquatic birds of the subfamily Anserinae » It won’t be too easy, but by finding the bird’s name you will be rewarded with drinks ! Good luck ! PS : Above all, do not open the emergency envelope !

Let’s start the game… following the instructions, every part is indicated by a cross on the city map.
