San Joaquin Valley Partnership Program June 2010 Focus: San Joaquin Valley kWh and peak kW reductions This Month’s Major Accomplishments: Implementing Partner staff, Courtney Kalashian and Maureen Hoff, and Visalia Partner, Kim Loeb, attended the Residential Retrofit Action Forum at the AgTAC Energy Center in Tulare on June 2nd. The event was co-hosted by the Workforce Investment Board of Tulare County and introduced important new state and federal programs, including the federal HomeSTAR program which would provide tax credits for homeowners who make energy efficiency upgrades to their homes. The implementing Partner, Utility Partners, and County of Tulare Partner, Gail Henry, met on June 2nd with the newly consolidated Capital Projects/Facilities management team of Tulare County in order to educate them on the Partnership’s purpose, activities, and available programs. Southern California Edison representative, Jesse Langley, presented on the current programs, rebates, and incentives available to customers at the June 3rd Partners meeting. On June 8th, Implementing Partner staff, Courtney Kalashian and Maureen Hoff, traveled to the AgTAC Energy Center for the Small Business Community Outreach Event. Key topics included the General Service (GS-1) rate shift, SCE’s Energy Efficiency programs, and customer assistance programs including On-Bill Financing. Implementing partner staff member, Courtney Kalashian, traveled to Downey, California for the June 14th All Partners Meeting. The Partnership website has been live for some time and in June Partners were encouraged to submit information to implementing partner staff for ‘success stories’ to be published on the web. Implementing partner staff participated in the June 29th SEEC Webinar ‘Funding and Resources for Energy Programs’ and plan to share the information with all Partners at the July 1st monthly meeting. The Jurisdiction Needs Assessment that was developed in March was provided to all Partners. A face to face meeting was completed with the City of Tulare on June 30th and more assessment meetings are scheduled for July. Key Issues or Emerging Concerns: Attendance at the monthly Marketing meeting has been at an all time low and implementing Partner, SJVCEO, is concerned at the lack of involvement. It was decided at the June 2nd meeting to move the Marketing meetings to a quarterly system. The next Marketing meeting will take place in September and the Partners meetings will continue to occur every month.
