Courtney Kalashian reported that the placeholder, “website coming soon” page has been submitted for review and approval to Southern California Edison and Southern California Gas Company. SCE has returned their revisions and SCG is still reviewing. Courtney noted that a secure login will be provided to Jesse and Paulo following the meeting. Currently, the website is on schedule to go live by the end of the month.

The jurisdiction report on the Holiday Light Exchange was postponed until the Partners meeting so more jurisdictions could participate in the conversation,.

Cynthia Downing explained that with the uncertainty surrounding local Marketing dollars that the SJVCEO had not been working on setting a marketing budget. They will put together a sample draft budget for consideration that can be built upon once the CPUC issues a decision.

The group discussed the kind of events that would be valuable for the Partnership to participate in, and it was determined that the home shoes draw the right type of audience—they are open to the message.

Kim Loeb asked if the jurisdictions cannot run the residential retrofit program under the VIEW Partnership, then to who are be actually promoting. Gail Henry followed up by asking if the Partnership goals require residential reduction then why can’t the Partnership promote residential?

Discussion followed questioning why an effort has gone into developing a VIEW brand if there are going to be such constraints. Paulo Morais explained that beyond utility programs the Partnership can market other programs regionally. For example, if the California Energy Commission has an available program the Partnership could promote that.

Jesse Langley explained that VIEW can be used to promote the small business programs. The Partnership could get local Jurisdictions and their mayors to send out a letter to local businesses under the VIEW brand.

Cynthia noted that it would be useful for utilities to start having discussions with their legal and regulatory residential departments because we have another project coming up called Greening Main Street which addresses energy retrofits for small business. Jesse commented that it seems everyone is on the same page, so it would be best to wait and see what projects get funding and then take what we want and say we would like to run it under our regional brand.

Jesse explained that there was a bit of confusion following the presentation from Janelle Villalba at the last meeting. What Janelle is looking for is just a site within the communities. All the Jurisdiction would have to say is, “hey I want this class in this quarter”. It’s not an administrative role. Jesse also asked that the SJVCEO make the Tulare Kings branch of the USGBC Central California more aware of the AgTAC.

Leslie Caviglia noted that the other partnerships have had great success picking one incentive program and putting their weight behind it. Utilities have great core programs but they don’t have the hook to get it out regionally—we’re the hook.
