Daniel Amin Zaman beschäftigt sich mit dem anthropologischen Phänomen von Ordnungs- und Erklärungsmodellen. Der (selbst)ironische "-ismus" seines „Zamanismus" dient ihm dabei als Matrix, neben biografischen Aspekten insbesondere seine kunstforschenden Reflexionen und sein künstlerisches Werk in dem Narrativ einer sich selbst hinterfragenden Ordnungspraxis zu verbinden. Das zentrale Moment seiner Arbeit bildet dabei die Wiederholung als (rituelles) Prinzip und Methode. Dabei zeigt sich diese als UmSchreibung einer Bedeutungsdimension, die sich dem Sagbaren entzieht oder sich darin auflöst. Als Form des Über-sichhinaus-Weisens ringt die Wiederholung gleichsam darum, dem Formlosen eine Form zu geben. Zamans rituelles Scheitern - zwar immer das Gleiche zu machen und dennoch nie Dasselbe zu schaffen - ist dabei integraler Teil seines Ordnungsmodells, das seine Ordnung permanent in Frage stellt und zugleich als Ausnahme dessen Regel bestätigt.

Daniel Amin Zaman deals with the anthropological phenomenon of models of order and explanation. The (self-)ironic "-ism" of his "Zamanism" serves him as a matrix to connect, besides biographical aspects, especially his art research reflections and his artistic work in the narrative of a self-questioning practice of order. The central moment of his work is repetition as a (ritual) principle and method. In doing so, it shows itself as a rewriting of a dimension of meaning that eludes the sayable or dissolves in it. As a form of pointing beyond oneself, repetition struggles, as it were, to give form to the formless. Zaman's ritual failure – to always do the same thing and yet never create the same – is an integral part of his model of order, which permanently questions his order and at the same time confirms the rule to the exception.
