GOD LOOKS AT THE HEART OF THE MATTER BY PERITA H. ADAMS
Did you know that according to the British Health Foundation our heart pumps an estimated 100,000 times per day? That’s if your heart is healthy and strong. I bring this to your attention because it’s not only about the physical health of your heart that makes it last, but also the emotional and spiritual health of your heart that helps keep it strong and vibrant. So let me ask you, do you overwork your heart with stressful thoughts such as unforgiveness, worry, fearfulness, lack of selfesteem and more or do you put your trust in God the one who can cast all those cares away?. Two of my favorite biblical verses are Proverbs 4:23, “ Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life'' and Proverbs 3:5 which reads, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding”.

God’s instruction for these verses seem pretty clear and easy. However, the problem is that sometimes we just read the scripture and oftentimes don’t apply these lessons to our lives. You see life has a way of throwing some pretty difficult situations in our path which can wreak havoc on our emotions and our heart. With all this emotional baggage to carry here’s where we drop the ball with letting go and letting God. God realizes that life can get hard so He wrote an explicit instruction to trust him with all your heart! Many of us just want to give God a little trust and expect big blessings. Well God doesn’t work like that. He’s checking to see if you completely trust Him to give it all to Him. Be diligent in knowing whatever you trust God with He’ll work that situation out. When we try to understand things that don’t add value to our life then we become overwhelmed, frustrated, weak and weary. God doesn’t get tired.
