President Maduro rejects renewal of Executive Order against Venezuela NicolĂĄs Maduro, President of the Republic, categorically rejected the renewal of the Executive Order decreed by US President Barack Obama, which points to Venezuela as a threat.

"In 2016 Venezuela suffered international aggressions, among the most dangerous are the renewal of the Executive Order of Obama against Venezuela that has tarnished the honor of our country.

This decree leaves the door open for anyone to carry out an armed intervention against Venezuela," said the president.

Maduro called upon the people to organize a great national movement in rejection of the Executive Decree ratified by Barack Obama, since Venezuela does not represent a threat for any country of the world. He also repudiated those who, as Venezuelans, support actions like that. "We must be

well stateless to support the Executive Order against Venezuela," he said.

In addition, the aforementioned ruling emphasizes in particular the prohibition for deputies to "call and carry out acts that disturb public order, instigations against authorities and public agencies, as well as other actions outside the constitutional rights and legal order."

Finally, the Supreme Court of Justice calls for the use of dialogue as a fundamental tool to resolve political differences and, especially, to comply with constitutional duties and purposes, in order to guarantee the construction of a fair and peace loving society, and to promote prosperity and people’s well-being.

The US launches attacks against Venezuela The United States has imposed sanctions against seven Venezuelan military officials stating that the country represents an "extraordinary and unusual threat to the US National Security and foreign policy." The Bolivarian President, Nicolรกs Maduro, described that decision as "the most aggressive, unjust and nefarious step that has ever been taken against Venezuela."

Meanwhile, several Latin American countries have expressed their support for the Venezuelan people condemning the actions of the US Government. Several experts indicate that the US is preparing a military aggression against Venezuela. www.actualidad.rt.com

President Maduro: Latin America is the hope of the whole world The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolรกs Maduro said on Wednesday the 11th January that the left-wing forces of Latin America represent the hope of the entire world given the social and economic advances made in the region with the arrival of progressive governments.

"We are the continent of hope; we are the revolutionary forces of hope for the whole world, we here in Latin America. We must say it with humility and assume it as a commitment," said the president in Managua during his participation in the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Sรฃo Paulo Forum.

The president said that these progressive governments generated in Latin America "the first revolutionary and popular wave of the twenty-first century," which he called "positive for peoples."

"Today we can say it: our people learned to read, to educate themselves, to live, to have housing, work, social rights, social security," he noted during an interview with Venezuela Television (VTV).

The head of state added that the processes of change in the region deepened with the vision of the Cuban leader Fidel Castro and with the arrival of President Hugo Chรกvez as the Venezuelan president.

WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT HIM Coach Eddie Butindo With the exception of Friends of Football, there were hardly any established football academies of note in Uganda two decades ago. Like many talented boys at the time, a young Denis Onyango spent time at the academy which used to conduct its training sessions at Kyagwe Road Primary School (present day Mukwano mall).

This was done by establishing four electoral colleges for the voting process. This included members of the CAF Media Committee (college one) and members of the CAF Technical and Development Committee (college two).

The other two colleges were a panel of 20 experts involving journalists and TV consultants (college three) as well as Head Coaches of 54 Member Associations + Zanzibar and Reunion Island (college four).

The procedure had the CAF Media Division come up with a list of 25 nominees for the category ‘African Player of the Year – Based in Africa’ between September 30 – October 10.

Founded in 1997, the academy was used by the then Fufa administration to assemble an Under-12 national team that won the invitational Eritrea Independence Cup later that year.

The first phase of the voting process was then conducted between October 15 – 31 with Colleges one, two and half of three involved in voting. Each voter was required to classify the five players nominated per category with the first getting five points, the second four points, and the third three points and so on.

According to Eddie Butindo a long time youth coach who handled the player from 1998-2000, Onyango has always been modest and eager to learn. “He was humble and always willing to listen. He was also determined to succeed because at that time there was Odur (Tony) who was ahead of him,” Butindo said in comparison to the now Vipers striker who has since switched positions.

The second phase of the voting process was conducted between November 15-30 with only colleges three and four allowed to vote for the African Player of the Year – Based in Africa category. From the 42 member associations that voted, Onyango received the maximum five points from 10 countries (Ivory Coast, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Uganda).

“He pursed his goal with a lot of determination.

He did not have as many opportunities in secondary school like Odur who was winning titles at Old Kampala.,” the veteran coach adds. “He has taken that determination to whichever club he has been. From Villa up to where he is at Mamelodi Sundows.”

He also gathered four points from eight countries while six of the 10 Media Experts that voted including Usher Komugisha also gave him the maximum five points each.
